Thanks again to wonderful editor @sonjatiernan.bsky.social for opportunity to contribute to #Saothar50. Having this opportunity to write about how Irish housewives felt about their unpaid labour in the home & how their experiences inspired #activism has been brilliant. #womensgrassrootsactivism

So grateful to @sonjatiernan.bsky.social & editors of #Saothar50 for opportunity to write on Irish housewives. By mad coincidence my ma was interviewed about her everyday experiences in 1968 & that features in my new article. #familyhistory #femaleactivism

Looking forward to attending launch of #Saothar50 in Dublin next week 😀. This is a jam packed edition & was delighted to be asked to write article about #Irishhousewives in 1960s & 1970s, featuring a Swedish newspaper interview from 1968 on their everyday experiences, with my mum ❤️. #familyhistory.

It's notable that humanities and social sciences once again make up 50% of ERC starting awards in Ireland (a notably higher proportion than in other countries) despite the weak financial support for research in these disciplines nationally. We should fund what we're good at!
