I wrote some books, once upon a time.

Posting about stories, brain injuries, adorable animals, rhubarb recipes, nature facts, human rights, and how we can make this world safe and kind and good. You are precious to me, and I love you.

I write novels and short stories for both kid readers and grownups. For example! I wrote The Girl Who Drank The Moon which has magic, a swamp monster, a Perfectly Tiny Dragon and a witch. bookshop.org/p/books/the-...

Leather upstairs, leather downstairs. Ew.

The fact that he pulls at all is evident that a lot of women were raised to have zero self respect, and that is the real tragedy.

We have to be able to thread this needle, and the only way to do so is with clarity and precision of language. We must make arguments that illuminate, separate and refine. Because people on the right will want to tangle, muddy, confuse, and capitalize on chaos.
Israel is engaged in genocide, it is a genocide materially assisted by the US, and AIPAC is the biggest lobby pushing for that material assistance to continue.

AND.

We need to proactively address anyone trying to exploit these realities and justified anger to advance or engage antisemitism.

Just read all of it.
I cannot overemphasize that Marjorie Taylor Greene, Carlson, and Fuentes see a 2028 path to victory that involves building an isolationist populist coalition that traffics heavily in antisemitism and exploits existing negative sentiment against Israel.

We have to be SHARP on the left right now.

I have a lot to say about the X location feature/scandal but in the meantime @cwarzel.bsky.social is here to remind you that it was not a surprise (see next post), the incentives are misaligned, and the corporations generally do not want to fix it.

If you need a machine to come up with your sick insults for you because you lack the swiftness of thought and the flexibility in your own creative muscles, maybe you were never much of a "genius" in the first place.

All I see are two sad, drab little men with little to offer other than ego.
Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen

Imagine being so petty as to unleash the world's worst monsters just because you couldn't bear having to share a fifth place ribbon with another girl.

My daughter taught me that if you add "-ai" after your query, it doesn't use AI. It's a pain, but I find their AI suggestions aren't thinking like I do; so not giving me helpful results.

Dear Google,

Stop suggesting your AI nonsense to me. I do not want it. I have never wanted it, and never will. The suggestions are disruptive and enraging and make me want to never use your services again. Just because you sunk your fortunes into AI slop doesn't mean we have to use it.

Love,
Us.

I like the "failed his saving throw against Charm Person" theory.
Every clip I've watched has been more insane than the last - this one's particularly remarkable because when asked "why do you think there's been more excitement around this meeting" Trump responds with a long monologue about how great and remarkable ZOHRAN is - not one single word about himself.
I think this clip is the key to understanding why Trump acted the way he did with Mamdani. His world revolves around TV ratings.

"I tell you, the press has eaten this thing up."

I get one of these emails a day. Sometimes more. All from different addresses so I can't block 'em.
There is a book club organization out there emailing authors telling them the club will feature their work for a "modest fee" for "branded materials" etc. Do not fall for this nonsense. You should never, as a writer, have to pay for such things.
