Great little book. With a simple message for action:

Food security for the UK can only ever mean anything if it includes imports, and that means imports of things we can’t grow, and, to a lesser extent, things we can grow - like Bread Wheat. Bread wheat depends so much on right weather conditions. Which, as the climate shifts, is becoming a Lottery.

And this, class, is why aiming at agricultural self-sufficiency rather than spreading risk across different countries through international trade is a *really stupid idea*.

When Big Oil companies claim to be partners in climate solutions, remember: they are lying.

If you squint, you might be able to see how much energy generated by Big Oil comes from renewables.

For BP and Shell, it's less than half a percent.

For Exxon and Chevron? ZERO, according to a new study.

If I had a billion pounds - thats £1,000,000,000 - I wouldn’t mind paying a 1% wealth tax of 10 million - that’s £10,000,000 - because I’d still have £990,000,000 … more than any individual can spend in a lifetime 😳

If you want to reduce plastic use, avoid yellow kitchen sponges like these. They're made of plastic, can't be recycled, don't break down in landfill – and release microplastics into the sea. Eco-friendly, compostable alternatives are available – see: littlegreenspace.org.uk/reviews/seep...
