This has been the right wing belief ever since 1975. If it weren't for the Dirty Hippies who controlled everything in America including the armed forces, America would be undefeated.

I’m not autistic, just a parent to an autistic kid w/ fairly significant support needs, but I personally find it very frustrating to see so many people fixated on preventing, reducing, or “curing” autism and neurodiversity instead of talking about inclusion + getting folks whatever support they need
sophronia.bsky.social
Of course, there are also some people who just can't stand it that their kids aren't perfect. But I do think that our medical system forces people to feel terrible about needing help and MAHA "wellness" woo only makes things worse.
sophronia.bsky.social
There is so little support for disability in our medical system. Raising a kid with high needs means a huge amount of time and money and frustration, and everyone knows that the US medical system will not help and will not change. So people look for someone to blame.

Finally, a show for all the people too stupid and racist to know that Puerto Ricans are Americans.

Life-changing decisions about worker hiring, firing and discipline must be made by humans, not AI. The California state legislature passed #SB7 to protect working people from soulless robo-bosses. We urge @governor.ca.gov to stand with workers and sign this landmark bill into law.

ATTN @governor.ca.gov

#SB7 is sitting on your desk awaiting signature, it bans employers from using AI to discipline or fire workers without human oversight. This is a national priority bill for the labor movement, backed by @aflcio.org President @lizshuler.bsky.social (1/5)

Went for a walk from our hotel room and found this just down the street!
A bridge tower from the Brooklyn Bridge at night. The bridge tower is made of white stone and has two pointed arches, and it is brightly lit against the dark sky. A wooden walkway leads to the tower and several people in shadow are walking on it.

ACOG reaffirms that acetaminophen is safe for managing pain and fever during pregnancy. No reputable studies support suggestions like those in HHS’s recent announcement linking acetaminophen use in pregnancy to autism; in fact, high-quality studies show no such risk. https://bit.ly/47Wxc59

Last pic from my mom's former backyard as she moves to her new home today.
A canal curves past green grass and palm trees, reflecting them and the gray rain clouds in the sky, as a pink strip of sun rises over larger trees in the distance.

One of these rich dudes invested in a food company with all proceeds going to kids in need. The other started Sundance Institute, boosting the lives of countless artists. Hey modern rich dudes, don't be a typical greedy AI crypto-prick, be like these two.

Mary Sully, a Dakota artist, did incredible work with just color pencils and inexpensive paper. Go make your own art!
Red, green and white repeating geometric pattern. Repeating pattern of ovals and lines. A drawing in colored pencils of a congregation seen from the back. A six-pointed star filled with women’s faces.

A great day enjoying the fantastic collection at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
A pair of metal decorative elevator grilles by Louis Sullivan, and visible through the grates is a large window with a view of the skyline of Minneapolis.

Yes, many of these "proud conservatives" are one-issue anti-abortion voters. Somehow there has to be a way to convince people that depriving living disabled people of needed care is a far more important problem than some woman they don't know getting an abortion.

Sounds to me like Kamala Harris's plan to help people caring for elderly family members should have really appealled to this woman. I wonder why it didn't???
