When you look at the list of institutions they want to defund: libraries, museums, the Smithsonian, public schools, PBS, NPR, archives, you can clearly see that the real threat to an authoritarian regime is an informed and educated public

Why is Trump waging a war on the Department of Education?

Because he knows that his biggest enemies are educators and younger generations of learners who are unafraid to speak truth to power.

Attacks on education are central to the fascist playbook.

So proud of my students for braving the below freezing temps here in Dallas to come take the #TELPAS exam!

Majority of these students don’t live far away enough from the school to qualify for the bus, so they have to walk 20-30 minutes to and from school.

Over the years, I have spent tens of thousands of dollars at Target.

It has been my go to do so many things.

It may take a little extra time, but I will find alternatives rather than to keep shopping there.

They don’t want my business, cool. Bet.

SHARE WIDELY.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.

With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.

You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.

Had another kid talk to me in private today to ask what his mom could do to protect herself from being deported.

16 years old and already put in charge of seeking help from a neighbor and a lawyer in case mom doesn’t come home one day 💔

I love this so much!

At the inauguration, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson wore a distinctive collar adorned with cowrie shells, which are believed to offer protection from evil in African traditions.

This choice mirrors the late Justice Ginsburg’s practice of using collars to convey a message.
