Halloween-celebrating the sacred days year round. We'll leave the light on for you.
Halloween tableau. Celtic style stone cross with a tarantula, a friendly, fuzzy vulture, a mini bubbling cauldron and a spooky lit Jack O Lantern.

This seems more accurate than my weather app.

So what's the timeline on "kicking them out"? And don't say the 2026 elections. Enforcement of laws and prosecution is already past due, you know like years over due.

I do 31 shirts of Halloween every year. I used to post them everyday. I gave up on that, but here's a ghost for your ghost. (This must blow your mind since you said you only have like 3 shirts, right? LOL).
A Halloween T everyday. An orange and gray tableu on black, including a pentagram dream catcher, ghosties, candles, bats, skulls and a smiling jack o' lantern.

Same. People are shockingly naive about the lack of emigration options for the average US citizen. Very short list of job skills, but mostly you need to be able to buy your way in.

So graphic. And asymmetry that works.

The relevance of this piece is stunning. It's not 'lessons from our past', or 'here's a similar story'; it's the same story, as in nothing has changed in all these years. Which is a depressing realization really, but Thompson is so witty and charming it's still a pleasurable read.

Every few months now I re-read this "Who Goes Nazi?" piece from 1941 and am blown away by how it captures the people we are dealing with 80 years later.

Lawrenceville. 46th Street. Caller says that his neighbors have a high powered magnet and are using it and other dark arts to move his furniture. Happy Halloween season.

One of the best and certainly always relevant.

Aren't we lucky to be able to stay so humble?

That would be so much fun.

My interest is piqued. Why, yes I do want to eat a soft, billowy cloud.

"Ninety-nine times out of a hundred, crimes come down to love, hate, or money, and unlike what it says in the bible, the greatest of these is money."

Man, I do love the Reacher books. If you haven't read this one yet, the story is very different from the movie, so no spoilers.

"Then she said, You're like something feral.
...
It's like you've been sanded down to nothing but yes and no, and you and them, and black and white, and live or die. It makes me wonder, what does that to a person?"

"Life, Reacher said.
Mine, anyway."
