Finally putting my studio back together! Metalsmith tip for those with limited space and commitment issues: Bolt your rolling mill to a piece of wood, then clamp that to the workbench. Can be moved when needed

I have a small collection of quality vintage bits — glass, stone, metal — that I’d like to send out into the world to inspire other artists and makers. Stay tuned. Details to come #mixedmedia #assemblage #art #upcycle #treasure #ecoartlove #artyear #artsky #destash

You guys, I’ve had no luck conditioning my rawhide mallet. I’ve beat it on concrete corners, soaked it in warm water, filed, and even scored it with a utility knife to help break the shellac but it’s still hard as a rock and mars my metal. Anyone have any tips or success stories to share?

Sweet woodruff. Woodland native. Edible. Took a chance and bought a few half-dead plants from a local nursery at the end of last season, steeply discounted. Quite pleased now

Found this a yard sale last summer. Didn’t know what it was. But I do now. Though I still don’t totally understand how it works

Working extra hours at my other job, so haven’t made anything super exciting to share lately. But I cut and sized these waxes last night to send to an old friend who dabbles in subtractive methods of sculpture. He'll carve them, and I’ll be sand casting them in about 6 weeks

This was a little tricker to bend than I expected, but it turned out well (whew) and the recipient was very very happy

Not mine. Mystery metal, likely toxic. It was my friend’s daughter’s favorite ring, so I’m going to recreate it in sterling silver

Linocut print from @nicetriangle.com The typeface is rich with history, the “brugletters” (bridge letters) of Amsterdam. The lantern, to me, is a beacon and a reminder #bethelight
