Strawberry sharkcake 🍰🦈 #art

This is how I got into making concept art for the game actually !

A unit of Chaffs, four men strong. They are wearing various shades of French zouave uniforms, consisting of a saruel, a chechia or fez and a vest worn over a jacket, all in red, blue, navy or white. They are armed with long moukala firelocks that they are firing from a fork rest. Their only bit of armor is a face plate decorated with elaborate metal facial hair, a fancier version than the rest of the regiment. A unit of three cuirassiers, wearing a breastplate and white cavalry gloves on top of their uniform jackets with white turnbacks. Two of them are wearing fancy crested helmets while the third is wearing a blue forage cap. They are all wearing a faceplate with decorative metal moustache, carrying a wide saber-hilted broadsword and riding boars, one of whom is wearing the third cuirassier's helmet. Six grenadiers, one of three units making the backbone of the regiment. They are wearing either a tall bearskin or an equally tall mitre cap, each with a large chased regimental plate featuring a head of garlic, and the regimental faceplate with decorative moustache. They are wearing large navy greatcoats over red pants with white spats, and are generally inspired by French Second Empire grenadiers. They are using crude bolt action rifles bristling with all manners of bayonets, and are all carrying some sort of food items like sausages or root vegetables. A sapper is leading the unit, wielding a large axe and wearing a busby hat, a white leather apron and a carbine. All drawings done for the regiment, including sketches, ideas and officers.

A trio of boar-riding cuirassiers, standing in for a unit of bastards in the tabletop skirmish game Turnip28. The boar is leaping through the air majestically, with its rider pointing their basket-hilted sword forward. They are wearing a uniform inspired by 19th century French cuirassiers, being navy with red and white accents, topped with a brass trimmed helmet with a large red plume and a horsehair crest. Another cuirassier, pulling on the reins of their rearing boar. The boar is wearing their helmet while they are wearing a forage cap instead. A third cuirassiers, sitting on their boar who is ready to pounce forward. They are carrying a buckler on their hip, and their helmet has a large mitre-like front plate bearing their regiment's insignia.

been toying with an okawara-ish design. need to try and make it less "just dougram to the left" and am considering splitting it into a more faithful to okawara and "ver. ding" take
(terrible) picture of the work sketchbook with explorations of a not-dougram. You can see the tension between closer to MSV shapes and trying to be a real machine ones quick digital sketch of the same mech from above and with optional equipment mounted (zaku half cannon shield, smoke projectors, and an aircraft style unguided rocket pod)
