I'm only here for the Orient. #LOFC

The thing is, we had to almost go out of existence to get here. It's a risky strategy as a way of creating good times.

I don't watch Question Time - I remember it being mostly hot air and froth - but this was a response to a loaded question. The unstated premise of the question was that our problems are poor people's fault. Hats off to @zackpolanski.bsky.social for turning it around and nailing one of the lies.

Former Head of Comms for the IEA, Annabel Denham, says the super rich will leave if we have a wealth tax.

Yes, the very same IEA that brought us Liz Truss’ disastrous mini budget. 🤦🏽‍♂️

Green Party leader Zack Polanski explains that their taxable assets can’t leave. #bbcqt

Today's #LOFC v #DRFC match is virtually sold out. There will be more patronising people saying, "It's not a bad little ground actually," and, "My great-uncle had a trial at Orient." Don't hit them. We're going to need these people.
spicealbert.bsky.social
As you know well, you need the bad times to appreciate the good.

No idea where 15 years came from! It was about 7 years.
spicealbert.bsky.social
You could argue that this season marked the start of a truly dire roughly 15 year period for #LOFC. Finished 79-80 lower than 78-79, then lower again in 80-81, relegated in 81-82, close to another relegation in 82-83, relegated in 84-85.

Moorhouse and Simkin out for internationals tomorrow. So tell your know-it-all mate at the ground that Simkin hasn't been dropped.

Unbelievable from Wellens.

Richie Wellens on a Leyton Orient youtube video. caption: Everyone thinks Blackpool obviously with me is tree there. But Luton are a very good club. Very good. Don't worry I'll always look out for the Orient score.

I'm hearing, "Birmingham and Luton - tonight."

Wait... oh sorry, it's just my neighbour playing old Bob Marley records.

Thing is, if he wanted to go there, or to Blackpool, it would be hard to stop him. It would just be a question of compensation. It depends what he's been promised at
#lofc, really. He worked miracles last season, but that can't be expected every year. He's ambitious. He wants a crack higher up.

2-0 to Scarborough on pairs of rhyming players, I suppose.
spicealbert.bsky.social
Who can forget that one?
Sorry, I meant: who can remember that one?

It's the scariest bit. Suppose, for example, it redefines sport as 'a disarray composed of very small particles'? That would be a fine mess.

Here's the relevant chart from the above report. It's rare to see such a clear, consistent slope in any social trend. That segregation is decreasing is perhaps the best evidence, least controversial social fact of modern Britain

There's a similar competition for National League teams. Look who won it!
There's a real danger of B Teams in the league. Travis is fine with that - at least, he was when he was footing the bills. I'm bloody not. A 2 tier competition where some teams can't be promoted? That would be me out.

The National League Cup. National League teams compete with Premier League U21 teams to help Premier League clubs develop their stockpile. 24-25 winners: Leeds United U21.
Bollocks to this and all similarly useless competitions. Yes, Lack Of Virtue Trophy, I'm looking at you.
#BTeamBoycott #LOFC
24-25 National League Cup winners, Leeds United under 21, celebrate on the pitch with flamethrowers and other nonsense.

No. Spent a few years at Millwall, then Aldershot, then non-league.

They're winning every match by this sort of margin. It's a shame in a way, because to me that makes the matches unwatchable. I understand that it's possible to go up more than one division at the end of the season. I hope they do. They need competitive football.
spicealbert.bsky.social
I mean, it's hardly a guarantee of anything. Teams in our position now have also been relegated, I'm sure. But we've got Wellens.

This is from 11v11.com. Hours of fun.

(Don't make me post the table, don't make me post the table... too late! You've done it.)

#LOFC fans - this is where we were after 11 matches last season. Note the 3 fewer points and the 2 places lower league position.

He had a real go last season!
spicealbert.bsky.social
That's fine, if that's what you think. But Dave's original post is based on the headline.
