I shouldn't need to clarify, but it's up to your discretion if you don't care how your data is being used by tech companies. I'm not out to force people to disable it if you want the Discord Checkpoint experience. I just believe strongly in online safety, which is being whittled away.

Guys, do not use the Discord Checkpoint thing (Discord's attempt at Spotify Wrapped).
It requires enabling them access to scrape your data, and has an alarming amount of private data being used for it.
Make sure you have these disabled.

Transformative fandom is a space dominated primarily by women and queer people. That contributes a great deal toward fannish hobbies not being taken seriously in the first place, much less any attempts to raise the alarm about increasing sympathy for authoritarian movements within that space.

What gets me is that fanfic/fanart creators have been talking about the subject of getting dogpiled, harassed, and pressured *for so many years now* about making dark/unsettling content, and let nobody listened to the canary in the coal mine because “stupid fandom drama”
alternatively we as a society could realize that fiction is about playing with dolls and that horrible things happening to them doesn't matter because it's all toys.
but that seems more complicated than just bringing back big box PC games and publishing books alongside them
