An element of card games I've never seen replicated in deckbuilders is long-term modification.

In playing physical games, so much of deckbuilding is making tweaks and modifications to your pile based on developments in the scene and what you expect to play against each week.

Hey yall. As you've seen here - unfortunately a large portion of the ivy road team was laid off today, myself included. We're all looking for work! Gonna do a quick thread about those who were laid off today and why you should hire them:
While we've gotten affirming feedback on Engine Angel, pitching unfortunately hasn't been successful. As a result, we've had to make the hard decision to lay off five team members. Each of these devs are incredible: if you have a place on your team, or know someone hiring, please keep them in mind!⬇

Today is the day. Right now hundreds of Minnesota businesses and institutions are shut down. Thousands of people are refusing to work. There’s a massive picket at the airport. Minnesota’s resistance to ICE today is changing the tenor our fight against fascism.

if you don't get into non-gaming shit you'll end up writing ready player one, and we have enough of those
The author of the novels that inspired Shin Megami Tensei and Persona says developers should take more inspiration from other media to invent new gameplay systems.

If they only take inspiration from games they'll just make the same games, he says.

I can't tell if Valve timing a major Deadlock update for the same week as Highguard is a coincidence or a public execution, but it's *something*

In a world of AI slop shortcuts in gaming, I am reminded that for The Friends of Ringo Ishikawa, the developer's 60 year old father learned pixelart in MSPaint to help make the game

For all those who have been calling for a General Strike.

How we support a localized/ state-wide General Strike to succeed, is an important muscle building exercise for a larger General Strike.
Unions and community orgs are calling for a Minnesota-wide shutdown in 10 days to protest the ferocious assault by federal immigration agents. They're saying on Jan 23, no work, no school, no shopping. SEIU Local 26, UNITE HERE Local 17, & others are supporting, w/ more to join. By me, Amie Stager
