Wanted to draw my favorite cryptid
Art depicting a design based on the cryptid known as "The Mothman". He is an all black, skeletal humanoid with large bat wings spread across his back. His head is mostly featureless except for two large glowing red eyes and two horns coming out of his head.

On the bottom right corner is a doodle of him with his wings wrapped around him. there's an arrow pointing at him with text that reads "He's cozy"

I want to remind people that when there is a call to action to "contact your reps", it needs to be more than once

Going forward, contacting your reps needs to become part of your routine, at the very least during the work week.

Sustained pressure over time is what matters!

This means if you're in the UK and haven't signed this yet, please do. At 100k signatures they have to discuss it again.

Literally the least you can do!!

UK Gouvernment: Payment Processors Can Ban NSFW Content
According to the UK treasury, payment processors are in the right and the gouvernment has no plans to step in. This puts it in direct contrast to what artists and the UK games industry have asked for.

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections

Ah so maybe the “depictions of fictional violence is the same as real violence” people and “ChatGPT should have personhood” people are maybe the same type of people

Knight Radiant from the Duchy of Burgundy, fanart for #trenchcrusade :3
Clad in rubberized suits and incorruptible armor, the miles iubari of the Duchy of Burgundy are the first line of defense against the horrors of the Black Grail in Southern France. Their military order has its roots in the legions of physicians attending to the good duke, following his early losses against fallen Avignon and his subsequent fall to one of its plagues. The tireless efforts of these doctors over the years lead them to foray many times deep into these lost territories, and while they never found a cure they still work to further their understanding of the diseases that claimed their liege lord.
A combination of combat drugs, rebreathers and radium batteries allows them to operate for several days around Avignon. Their lead-lined and gold plated suits of armor taking the brunt of the corrosive miasma, while displaying the wealth of the richest duchy in Christendom. Their signature weapon is the fulgurant, a stout partisan channeling electricity through their foes' twisted bodies, putting an end to their life like a cloven tongue of fire.
The drugs, isolation and their single mindedness in the pursuit of knowledge often turns knight radiants into huge bummers at the pub, which thankfully is not much of a problem as they rarely make old bones.

It's fascinating and revealing how many centrists think refusing to compromise on human rights to gain the support of bigots represents a "political purity test," yet also think that a bigot saying "I won't join you unless you accommodate my bigotry" does NOT represent a "political purity test."

I don't think we'll ever get another sentence which sums up everything the New York Times embodies quite like "Some legal experts have called it a crime to summarily kill civilians".
mattcameron.bsky.social
hey @nytimes.com: there is no counterpoint here. There are no credible legal experts who would EVER say that the US military has any right or authority to blow civilian craft out of the Caribbean and kill their crews from afar without any provocation. There is no other side to this question.
"Some legal experts have called it a crime to summarily kill civilians not directly taking part in hostilities, even if they are believed to be smuggling drugs."

Don't think I've seen this, but it looks cool I'll have to check it out some time

Absolute all-timer sentence in today's @nytimes.com
"some legal experts have called it a crime to summarily execute civilians" says today's New York Times, continuing their long tradition of whitewashing fascism

perfect encapsulation of what the far right is doing, they want to push the overton window as far as possible. they want to enact fascism and it’s intentional
