David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

I’ve learnt that only hyperfocus can keep me from disappointing others. Sometimes.
Two-page comic about ADHD, self-doubt, and burnout.

Panels 1+2
A person with short black hair and yellow antennae recalls lifelong struggles with effort and recognition. As a child, they cry while being scolded over homework. Later, they work hard but still fail small details and receive an “F.” When they finally succeed, they can’t enjoy it—holding a medal labeled “2,” they feel it’s luck, not skill.

Panel 3+4
Page 2:
They explain how productivity fluctuates. A blue graph shows steady effort, while a pink line spikes wildly. They say, “For me, it fluctuates more extremely.” Sitting exhausted at a messy desk, they admit, “I only stop when I’m too tired to go on. The word I learned for all this was ‘lazy.’ I never learned a healthy measure or how to trust myself.”

I love Satoshi Kon's work with a burning passion, and I still have never seen this film. I don't think I ever will. I was warned by kind friends that it would probably mess me up badly, since I've been stalked a few times. I'm okay with remaining curious forever.

disaffected "Oh. You're back." when I came back to class. I left after that. Forever.

I respond well to praise, and respond poorly to having my most intense efforts treated like trash. Who knew

freshman year. I have him to thank for becoming completely disillusioned with school and testing out in my sophomore year. Him, and an English teacher who gave me a huge pile of work to do while I was sick as a dog, out of school for two weeks. I killed myself do it all, and he gave this extremely

On the flipside, I had a physics teacher in high school who decided he didn't like me. Gave me the lowest grades he could, even though I worked my ass off in his class. Paired me with two people who did nothing for the hands-on final exam, so I would fail. His was the only class I didn't get an A in

I had a truly kind teacher in 3rd grade who stood up for me when I accidentally called her mom, and all the kids laughed. She said she liked being called mom. Who covers for a little kid embarrassing themselves like that? She rocked. Her name was Robyn Cota.

as a neurodivergent & also weird kid school was hell for me, though these days I struggle to remember the names of all the teachers who bullied me. But the three that treated me like a person have never left me. Now more than ever, I hope you all try your best to stay unsquishable!

Another Conway tale, though he’s a side character in this one: I had an English teacher Mr. L who was my sworn enemy. He absolutely hated me, & would find any reason to send me out of class to go sit in the hallway. Most commonly if I told a joke that garnered more laughter than his previous joke

Great news I can only draw fruit right now
Its an ink and color markers drawing of apples and cherries. They're scattered in a silly pattern, some of the fruits are in halves revealing the seeds.

I have letter to the editor this week in our local paper.
Our community is, once again, facing a developer who wants to turn public, protected coastal land into a golf course. We've been here before. This time, it's shadier. And God knows it was shady last time. www.invernessoran.ca/top-story/co...

Maybe it's just my experience with the American medical system talking, though. I feel like any time I have had anything other than like, an infection, they haven't had an answer. They make me take one billion tests, tell me they're all negative, shrug big, and I'm still tired for "no reason"

Sometimes when I see a lot of people talking about feeling dizzy or sick but not knowing the reasons I think about how much poison we humans can dump into our own environment before it takes us all out

GOOD NEWS! Researchers have discovered a powerful antibody, known as 04_A06, that is able to neutralize 98.5% of MORE THAN 300 different HIV strains AND permanently reduce HIV viral load to undetectable levels, making it one of the broadest-acting antibodies against HIV identified to date.
