I like to imagine aliens looking upon us feeling a wild sense of joy and completeness just like I do when I look at other species and appreciate them. It’s hard to imagine because I hate us, too. I hate being among us. But I know it doesn’t help

Realizing lately that I get so much comfort and relief from pursuing fantasies about being some other form, because I simply can’t imagine this form in its purest state. We are not taught what kind of animal we are. That animal deserves love and admiration and sorrow the way wolves and whales do

Been trying hard to remember that human is a kind of animal and that you can’t be a human without being an animal. You can forgo your claim to that species if you want. But feeling connection with other species, to soothe the animal our culture tried to destroy, is literally something only humans do

I'm not going to lie the "change the things that need changing" line lives rent free in my head and I try to sneak it into meetings at work. It never fails to impress middle managers who have no technical experience. Which perhaps explains a lot about Keir Starmer and how the government's doing.
