Out of budget lockup. I recently wrote: "Ottawa imposes a 10 percent luxury tax on yachts... yet a family buying a semi in Scarborough pays the equivalent of 15 percent in [DCs] and land transfer taxes."

Today the gov't addressed this by eliminating the luxury tax on yachts.

Ever since watching your initial video I switched from pods to powder. Except I’m out of my detergent and no one sells just the powdered stuff anymore! The only thing available to purchase are pods and it makes me so angry.

Oh! I almost forgot… the first thing we did after taking possession was ripping out a hideous undercounter lighting. As we did so, absolutely none of the electrical was wired correctly. Not to code and one step above bare wire running through the kitchen sink.

The fridge is way too big for how small the kitchen is, and it’s the dumbest layout I’ve ever seen. The freezer is massive but the way it’s laid out there’s only got about 1/4 useable space inside.

Christmas wishlist this year is “all new appliances” I guess.

Running the oven hotter than 325° will turn on the back left element. The back right element broke three months into living here. The front burners have two settings: barely warm and fires of hell, nothing in between.

What a piece of junk and one more reason to hate the previous owners. They were so proud of all the new appliances they put in the kitchen and every single one is failing in spectacular way.

Saw Frankenstein tonight. Fantastic movie.

The theatre experience is so goddamn miserable these days, has been for decades: sticky & dirty floors, sounds cranked loud enough to drown out the dipshits who won’t shut up, garbage everywhere, uncomfortable seats. Let me watch movies at home day one.

WCE service is so spotty lately. Almost daily delays due to freight trains. It used to be such a nice way to get downtown for work and as nice as it would be to run more often, realistically I can’t see it happening in my lifetime.

+1 recommendation for Linux. My biggest issue with getting set up is I was working off 20 year old knowledge of setting up dual boot windows/linux mbr data and these days it’s all pretty well automated. Especially if you’re installing linux onto a separate physical drive.
