Tom Stoppard has died. He was an extraordinary playwright. When he was good, he was untouchable. I love that his last play, Leopoldstadt, may be his greatest play. There was no one like him and only fools tried to mimic his wit, his intelligence, his playfulness.

WalterAsmus directed several key productions with Sam Beckett including the iconic author directed Schiller Theater Godot in 1974/5. In his seminar at the Minghella Studios here with Matt McFrederick he was witty and informative speaking about the importance of ‘tautness’ in staging #Beckett
