today i deactivated my accounts on that site, because i figured that if elon musk is monstrous enough to let the csam run amok then he's monstrous enough to do unimaginable things to my feed and data.
"why isn't the csam machine making more headlines?" brother it is extremely simple; the people that make the headlines are addicted to the website that built the csam machine

I really wish they kept the invite-only system because i think it could've cut down drastically on moderation costs - if you had a cluster of particularly-bad children, you could just be like "oh these people are costing us way too much money" and then ban the parent
This made more sense at the time because 1) there was no block feature, so there wasn't really any way to get away from shitheads, and 2) being invite-only meant a bad actor could gradually spawn in progressively greater amounts of horrible people
