#ArtAdventCalendar day 23

Milky Way and Andromeda enjoy a dance of death. They're moving towards each other and will begin to merge in a few billion years.

Crikey!

You guys, right after I snapped this pic, I looked outside and a hummingbird flew right up to my window. I think she approves!

Not finished yet btw. Needed another layer on the background first. That will help me judge tones for the final details. #ArtAdventCalendar

My Christmas tradition is quite different from most. I wake up and go birding (bird watching) then I play video games. Now it’s supposed to rain 😫

Another day of my husband making me a cute little pancake and a gigantic one for himself lol

Lately I’m exploring my artistic side as a separate entity from my scientist side. Most of my paintings combine both, and sometimes there is pressure that my art needs to teach. I’m having a great time creating space art that’s just…fun! First layer on the star candy today (took about ~3 hours).

It took the full power of my last remaining brain cell today to paint the scoring numbers. Gave the background a first layer, too. Once everything dries I can finish the final details & will paint deez pinballs. 🕹️

I did not set up my Solar System Christmas tree this year 😕. Just was not feeling it. But if you’re nice to me, I’ll share pictures of it across the years next week!

Mini pinball game update. Today I added the first layer on the scoopy things (idk what they’re called). Tomorrow I’ll add the scoring numbers. Only a few things left + the background. Almost finished! #ArtAdventCalendar

I showed up to my doctor’s appointment today and everything was gone! Lights off, no furniture, all the doors open. Should have taken a selfie standing in the empty office confused lmao. They moved locations & forgot to tell me. Oops! It all worked out though, did my appt on the phone. silly day 😆

husband: where?
me: in the sky
husband: 😑😑😑 no like which direction

Okay hear me out. I am a science artist accustomed to providing a description of the physics behind my paintings. Lately, I’ve been painting random space-inspired objects, too. It’s actually been kinda nice not needing to explain my art lol. I can just be like LOOK!

I went to dinner with a friend. Ordered a margarita. The woman asked for my ID. I presented it to her and she audibly gasped. “I knew you were over 21, but you do not look your age!” I will be riding this high for at least a month, thank you kind woman at Calle Tepa restaurant.
