The picture shows the incredible "A Bigger Splash" which is a large 1967 pop art painting by British painter David Hockney. Measuring 242.5 centimetres (95.5 inch) by 243.9 centimetres (96.0 inch), it depicts a swimming pool beside a modern house, disturbed by a large splash of water created by an unseen figure who has apparently just jumped in from a diving board. This painting could be seen from April 9 to August 31, 2025 at Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, France, which hosted "David Hockney 25", an exhibition with paintings in a variety of media created from 1955-2025. "A Bigger Splash" shows a typical California day – warm and sunny, with a cloudless blue sky. In the background, two palm trees loom over a large single-story house, with flat roof and large sliding glass doors, in front of which an empty director's chair with thin crossed legs stands on a wide pink patio. A shadow under the chair suggests that the sun is high in the sky, around noon. In the foreground, a yellow diving board slants away from lower right corner, leading the viewer's gaze towards the centre of a large swimming pool, where water fountains into the air, capturing the moment right after someone has dived in. The diver is not visible, presumably still under the water. The chair lies further back along the same diagonal line. A thickening in the white line atop the building's flat roof emphasizes the place where the diver has entered the water. The canvas – almost a perfect square – is dominated by the strong vertical and horizontal lines of the trees, the building, and the edge of the pool; it is divided evenly into the sky, building and patio in the upper half, and the pool and diving board in the lower half. The rectilinear composition is broken by the oblique thrust of the diving board. The calmness of the overall composition contrasts with the violent explosion of water caused by diver.

January 15, 2026 at 5:08 PM Reid Forgrave ICE agents eat at small-town Mexican restaurant — then arrest workers Federal agents detained three workers from a family-owned Mexican restaurant in Willmar yesterday, hours after four agents ate lunch there. It was not immediately clear what the immigration status of those detained was, or whether the people detained included the restaurant’s owners or only workers. An eyewitness who declined to give a name for fear of retribution, told the Minnesota Star Tribune that four ICE agents sat in a booth for a meal at El Tapatio a little before 3 p.m. Staff at the restaurant were frightened, said the eyewitness, who shared pictures from the restaurant as well as video of the arrest. The arrest happened around 8:30 p.m. near a Lutheran church and Willmar Middle School as agents followed the workers after they closed up for the night. A handful of bystanders blew whistles and shouted at agents as they detained the people. “Would your mama be proud of you right now?” one of the bystanders asked.

Das Bild zeigt eine Straßenszene in Stuttgart Nord an einem sonnigen Freitag im Januar 2026 bei angenehmen 13,4° Celsius Lufttemperatur. Die Hauptmerkmale sind die mehrstöckigen Backsteingebäude, die sich entlang der Straße erstrecken, und der wolkenlose, klare blaue Himmel, der den größten Teil des Bildes einnimmt. Auf der linken Seite des Bildes befindet sich eine Reihe von Gebäuden mit Ziegelfassaden und roten Dächern. Einige der Gebäude haben spitze Türme oder Erker. Die Gebäude haben viele Fenster, und das Sonnenlicht wirft Schatten auf die Fassaden. Auf der rechten Seite des Bildes befindet sich ein weiteres Backsteingebäude mit mehreren Stockwerken und einer ähnlichen Architektur. Hommage au travail invisible qui permet au spectacle d’exister.

On voit, en haut d’un mur carrelé de la station de métro Opéra, trois silhouettes noires minimalistes posées comme de petits pochoirs décoratifs. Elles représentent des personnes en train de travailler avec du matériel d’éclairage, un peu comme sur un plateau de cinéma ou de théâtre : • À gauche, une silhouette debout tient un câble enroulé dans une main, dans une posture d’attente. • Au centre, une autre silhouette est juchée sur un petit escabeau, occupée à régler un projecteur. • À droite, une troisième silhouette tient un projecteur orienté vers le haut, comme si elle éclairait la scène. Le tout est placé juste sous de vrais néons du métro, ce qui crée un jeu visuel amusant entre les lampes réelles et celles représentées.
