Doing my thing (cold plunging, hot pots, northern lights watching, river crossings) solo in iceland rn
Did a short 55km ride of my fully packed bikepacking setup today! it's in preparation of an upcoming solo trip from Berlin to Copenhagen 🚴‍♀️🌧️💨🍂
i have wondered the same for months! my building's elevator and courtyard even got tagged
jo, i love your look in your speaker photo! 🔥
also, i'm looking for a new job! i'm a senior fullstack engineer, previously working at GitHub on Issues & Projects, mainly working in Typescript, React, Ruby on Rails.

I prefer remote or hybrid in Berlin (or Iceland). I'm a friendly, empathetic and tenacious problem-solver.

TIL that for some people with irreparably damaged corneas, you can pull one of their teeth, drill a hole in it, install an artificial lens, sew it into their cheek (so tissue attaches), then pull it out and stick it in their damaged eye, and ... it works fine!?! www.nbcboston.com/news/health/...
Man, 34, is no longer blind after tooth is implanted in eye in 'crazy' surgery
Tooth-in-eye surgery sounds like science fiction, but it can help people with severely damaged corneas see again. A patient and his doctors describe what it's like.

my only favorite thing about the test sirens in berlin today is it activated my little wolf 🐺 arooooooooo
but it is the germanized version of it when i immediately see that it's made with béchamel sauce with muskatnuss, exactly like my german partner would make! 😅
officially a dual passport holder now
i did it! i became a german citizen today!
i've been to Burning Man twice and i had meaningful experiences there. meeting so many older interesting folks triggered me to make big life changes by challenging me to think about how i want to be when im old.
Made some more fidgety tactile button (& a few dip switch) rings.
that's amazing! 🤩 congrats! this is also a goal of mine (but on a bike)

i'm looking for work as of today!

if you need a staff level backend/database person, i could very well be that person: tef.computer.

if you know your company is hiring, drop me a link to the careers page.

nb: due to having a sleep cycle resembling a melatonin free jazz solo, i work in GMT+5
struggled with the venue wifi with my rpi4 today, decided just to stick to my phone's hotspot when i need to connect to it (luckily only need wifi for debugging)
i've done that ferry before! have fun in tallinn, it's lovely there. see you soon at the conf ✨

If you’ve sent me a text and I didn’t respond please know that I didn’t forget you, you’ll live on in my subconscious as a vague sense of dread forever
i made some tactile button rings tonight
worst part of being neurodivergent as afab for me? PMDD

at least after getting late diagnosed as adhd, i now know why every month my inner voice won't shut up trying to convince me to unlive myself, but still. this month's focus is on how i can't maintain long-term friendships. i hate this so much.
a week ago i completed my first bikepacking trip, 3 days/2 nights camping, ~300km along the Mosel River from the 🇩🇪🇱🇺🇫🇷 border to Koblenz! i did the first half of the trip solo!

i'm hooked now on slow travel & carrying everything i need on my bike 😍🚴‍♀️
Packed and ready for my first bikepacking trip (~300km) tomorrow. Will be solo for the first night of camping!
yep! i leased a gravel e-bike last year and it helped me build confidence with drop bars & clipless pedals & riding in general (~900km!). But sadly I am leaving my job soon & thus returning the expensive e-bike, so went ahead & bought a more affordable gravel bike.
Did a fun 32km gravel ride through the forest down to the Lahn & Rhein rivers yesterday. Preparing for my 1st bikepacking overnighter (200km+) this week.

Didn't know I was capable of doing this stuff without the aid of an e-bike, have surprised myself with my grit & capacity to power up hills.
Did a wunderschön 55km gravel bike loop today, including 2 ferry crossings over the Rhine River.
