If you or someone you know is in need of food resources -- please check out the resource list below that my team has compiled.

Also, 2-1-1 is an excellent resource to call for food & other resources.

3/ With rising costs and so many families struggling to make ends meet, it is critical that we removed the "sunsets" on these programs so that more Michiganders are given the opportunity to stay in their homes. #mileg #housing #gettingthingsdone
2/ Huge thanks to Mary Cavanagh for making this issue a priority for the finance, insurance and consumer protection committee! And so grateful to work with Rep. Tonya Myers Phillips who introduced the same bill in the House!

1/ Last week, the Michigan Senate passed SB 423 with almost unanimous support! My legislation will allow county treasurers to continue to run tax foreclosure prevention programs like Pay As You Stay and the Interest Reduction Stipulated Payment Agreement plans. #mileg #housing

UPDATE: Governor Gretchen Whitmer has granted Lue Yang's pardon!! Thank you, Governor, for taking action, and thank you to every person and organization who advocated for this much needed change. We need everyone's help to get Lue Yang back to Michigan. Call ICE now.
1/ URGENT UPDATE: Lue Yang, Khone Sengmany and others are currently on a plane that left a Louisiana ICE staging facility overnight and will eventually land in Laos -- but we believe it is still in the United States. 🧵
3/ Please take a minute to call or email the ICE Detroit Field Office and urge them to #BringLueHome and return both men to Michigan. ICE field Office: (313) 771-6601. [email protected] #keepfamiliestogether
2/ These Hmong and Lao men are hard working community members and fathers who came to our country as refugee children decades ago after the Vietnam War. Mr. Yang is the President of the Hmong Family Association.

No Kings in Madison, Wisconsin:
3/ Ended the day at "Reimagine Everything: The Grace Lee Boggs 10-Year Memorial Tribute". No better way to end #NoKings than honoring Grace and reflecting on her lessons and legacy for today's crises and movements.✊️❤️
2/ I participated in #NoKings protests in Livonia and Detroit today and am feeling hopeful for our future after seeing the creativity, energy, multigenerational activism, and solidarity on full display today.

4/ I’m proud to have worked with colleagues from both parties and both chambers to advance this important package — especially during Domestic Violence Awareness Month— to bring our state in line with the majority of states so that Michiganders seeking PPOs can live safely and without fear. #mileg
3/ No one should have to forgo the safety provided under a Personal Protection Order simply because of the amount of money in their wallet. By eliminating longstanding barriers that leave victims vulnerable to those who seek to harm them, our bipartisan bills would save lives & make Michigan safer.
2/ Following the tragic death of Latricia Green, it is clear that we need to address a gap in the law. Michigan is an outlier when it comes to state PPO laws -- service of PPOs in our state is unfortunately not free of charge for victims and not always immediate.
