yea thats still how i talk about stuff. i hate using numbers when discussing games to people the numbers r just kinda there as a loose guide to how i feel about things. im a person not a computer...! i leave notes a lot on the games i play for a reason.

i think the 10/10 scale is ontologically evil anyway. not a fan. 5/5 is a lot better but even i don’t use it because the way i rate stuff is a glorified binary like dislike system cause i hate giving 3 stars to anything on a 5/5 star system. (i use 8/8cause im stupid and quirky)

i used to think battle network 3’s forced navicust parts & navicust system in general was bad but like. man if i remove that shit and try to make it more & more like the sequels i no longer have bn3. instead i drive the game to a frictionless husk like bn6. i appreciate them in their own way.

it’s like wow!! maybe you should think about how the things that make your favorite thing actually unique and stand out to you maybe. wouldnt be unique the second you remove them right?? like. maybe not all things that are immediately “bad” to you actually have to be “bad” with more reflection!!

i’m gonna assume it’s cause they often just reuse specific variables to save up on space. like that’s why you’ll see them use truncated names in casual text and not when youre reading it on a menu or something. they just happened to screw up that one too 😭

whenever people love to think this is somehow a 4 only issue i remind them that the literal first possible dialogue interaction in bn1 is screwed up. they forget to even swap lan and haruka’s portraits during one of the lines
