When I got this project at work, I immediately knew it was dangerous. Interesting, challenging, uniquely suited to my skill set... a perfect trap.

Am I about to defend, support, or endorse luxury brands? No! When someone spends $700 on a Gucci t-shirt, "expensive and unnecessary" is kind of the point.

My most woke opinion is that nothing that is necessary for life should cost money. We are so good at growing food, at producing energy, building homes, making medicine, it should all be free. Eliminate insurance and any attempts to profit from necessities.

I kind of get the "secret apartment fantasy" trope now. Mine is for one that's almost completely devoid of possessions. The bare bones of furniture. A few of my favorite books. A clear dining table. A TV, a game console, brand new almost white carpet. I literally have dreams about it.

I've been struggling with feeling like I'm always making sacrifices to ensure I have a good future, but never getting to enjoy that future.
A friend pointed out to me just how much that hard work has been paying off, and now I'm focusing on gratitude. It's a powerful change of perspective.
