Miss me with the “recovering catholic” jokes. Everyone’s experiences are complex and I get why people leave (the Church sucks!!) but like, when I tell people I’m Catholic and then they feel free to make those jokes with me I’m like “k. Well uh, I’m Catholic. Congrats or sorry that happened?”

Remembering in college how I twisted myself into thinking that reading Catholic mommy blogs was somehow more edifying than scrolling Facebook. I eventually stopped because I came away with the impression that every parent just hates and regrets their life but slap a “love is suffering ❤️🔥✝️☺️” label on
