But if I be I, as I hope it be, I’ve a little dog at home, and he’ll know me; If it be I, he’ll wag his little tail, And if it be not I, he’ll bark and wail. https://linktr.ee/stobiepole

Why don’t we fill up the internet with unskippable sponsored advertising so it’s just like watching TV?

Also, what does an uncompelling visionary produce? I guess they work for Mark Zuckerberg.

Just got a message from Gerald saying that all the Nobel Prize attention is disrupting his daily routine.

Bits of Ura Horror were ripped out and were circulated online by people claiming they were genuine footage. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BQb...

This isn't exactly a classic portmanteau horror, it's the Japanese version, which relies on 'found footage'. There's hundreds of these straight to DVD cheapies floating around but this one is probably the best (Koji Shiraishi of Noroi fame directed some of it): www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcEx...

If you get the chance, watch Death Line AKA Raw Meat, with Donald Pleasance and Christopher Lee. *Really* intense and some fantastic scenes of class tension between DP and CL. Their heights were so different they're only in shot together when Lee is sitting down!

Amicus did the best horror anthologies...all of their films were pretty great. I grew up on this stuff but Kate's parents were evangelical Christians so she'd never seen Hammer films or Carry On films or even Dr Who. It was nice to revisit them all. The recent Christopher Lee doco is good too.

We just watched the fourth of the Szulkin sci-fi films and I feel like Gilliam borrowed a *lot* from them...I think Brazil just had a better writing team and much better music/design. Twelve Monkeys stank of Hollywood producers trying to sell it to normies. And Brad Pitt *really* sucks.

Let's just say that the anti-authoritarian elements didn't make it to the small screen...funnily enough we just watched Twelve Monkeys, which Kate had never seen. We've been watching a bit of Piotr Szulkin, who inspired Gilliam a lot, I think. I was surprised at how badly Twelve Monkeys has aged.

Wish I'd known about this beforehand. I could have stopped you. Watched the TV series? Oh boy.

I'm kind of shocked by the people I know who have sold out. I mean they've turned into the people they used to say they hated...is it just what happens when you get a bit of authority? Is it just the nature of institutions, that they produce monsters? Was it always just lies and posturing?

I had noticed that they were sausage averse. Doesn't seem like there's a lot of legumes either.
