Hello there,

I like to make games the hard way using C and OpenGL. Right now I'm trying to ship this boomer shooter before I've spent a decade rewriting it over and over.

Social media hasn't worked out all that well for me so far, maybe this time will be different?

The only official website for UZDoom is ZDoom dot org and the ONLY official place to get future UZDoom downloads would be the official UZDoom Github page!

Tried out doing a value study on this cool picture wikipedia has of a fallen tree in Białowieża Forest. I don't know why I find the idea of Primeval Forest so compelling, someday I really need to go visit.

Absolutely insane that people like the guy posting in the photos here are paid so, so much money to burn through employee livelihood and consumer sentiment just to come to the profound discovery that people like services that work well and are even just a little bit customer-friendly.
I legitimately didn't know they were competing with Steam and it's crazy to me that they burnt so much money on what sounds like something with very little (or wildly misguided) market research.
I gotta say, this is the best walk cycle I think I've yet done.

Needed to take a break from the crunch to do some art practice. Coloring was done with watered-down acrylic inks and black tea (the latter in many layers). I sketched the pose but the face is modeled on Neri from @trueref.bsky.social

I get that it has a poor opening, but anyone who still thinks Daikatana is the "worst game ever" definitely hasn't played it. There's some really cool stuff going on in that game, and the worst parts have mostly been fixed by fan patches.
Really? This whole time I thought it was because it was an OpenGL port of ZDoom, and everything in OpenGL uses that gl* prefix. Maybe that's just how he managed to sneak it in!
I've got to try this sometime. I love making tabletop terrain and this is the same skillset!
I now wonder if they also did their textures from sculpted tablets just like in GC?
Took a detour to add some frustum culling, there was literally no occlusion checking at all before. Just culling out offscreen debris and enemy animation blending has made enough of a difference for my aging machine to still manage 144Hz for all the important encounters. #screenshotsaturday #gamedev
