Occasionally, heists go according to plan. Most times, though, they end up a bit more like this.

In Hit!, you play as a bunch of idiot space criminals trying to pull a Job. Shuffle up a deck of cards, think up a heist, and play it from start to finish — all in one hour, no prep required!

This has lead to some Spellbooks from playtesting with absolute masterpieces such as “Bones outside” - which was the first spell ever cast in this system.

Other great ones - “Transform blood into painkillers”, “Crucify all wizards”, “Transform vomit into coffee” and “Pleasurable burns”.

I LOVE artifacts of play that remain after a TTRPG is done.

A big element of my upcoming game Diabolic Dialect is casting Freeform spells. So as part of play I ask players to keep a ‘Spellbook’ of the spells they cast, with some variant rules that use this mechanically.
