These guys wanted the energetic votes last week and nothing else. Weak, bitch shit, right here.
None of these Democrats should enjoy a moment's peace.

Cortez Masto (NV)
Durbin (IL)
Fetterman (PA)
Gillibrand (NY)
Hassan (NH)
Peters (MI)
Schatz (HI)
Schumer (NY)
Shaheen (NH)

They've effectively just voted for Donald Trump's agenda without putting up a fight. Never let them hear the end of it.

two contradictory ideas that i hold in my head at the same time: 1) i think the threat to both SNAP recipients and federal workers is significant enough now that even bad deals are worth making to prevent further harm, and, 2) everyone who caves now should retire in shame

Also, you won’t win hearts and minds by assuming voters are a) racist for their skepticism over your candidate or b) bad people because they reside in a high turnout Ward that doesn’t normally vote in a progressive manner.
Ask me how I know this!

The moment the Housing Stabilization ethics story came out, Fateh was cooked. If Progressives want to gain traction, which they've shown they can on city council and Parks Board, they need to run a better candidate.
Progressives got behind a candidate with a low ceiling of support and obvious liabilities. Multiple council members who endorsed Fateh and put all their energy behind him even acknowledged he could not win. Fateh was never going to be Mamdani. He didn't have the charisma or the comms for that.

It’s like they wake up every day and ask themselves “how can we make this place look even cheaper and tackier and less historic?”

who needs state-sponsored mental asylums when we can just do state-sponsored concentration labor camps instead
Under Trump, the draconian future of homelessness policy is coming into focus: mass internment. Utah is building a 16-acre site to detain up to 1,300 homeless people inside locked "accountability centers." This is profoundly alarming.
