I see Robert Jenrick just finished his speech at the Tory conference with "Let’s take our country back". Entirely accidentally *very* similar to an old BNP slogan, of course 🤔

@jamesrball.com d'you know anyone who's trying to dig into this from a data perspective?

It's a private company, Musk can do what he wants etc etc. But I wonder if people realise how much far-right stuff is being shoved at users – a lot of it seems to be happening below the surface of what's easily trackable publicly

I didn't get round to turning off homescreen notifications either. I get one of these every few days - always far-right / pro-Trump things, despite everything its algo should know about me
stuartdredge.bsky.social
I don't use my Twitter account any more, but I had to log in to check something.

The 'all notifications' column is 90% far-right tweets. Any basic algorithm analysing at my posting/following history would realise that's anathema to my views.

6 Tommy Robinson tweets in the top 30 served up to me...

YEAH! Email came in, clicked on the link and chose standing tix as fast as I could. Think I was lucky as friends literally 30 seconds behind me hit the sold-out wall.

And perhaps once investigating imaginary terrorist networks is done, they'll get round to tackling the whole 'children getting shot in schools' thing...

The Nigel Farage who wrote this about Charlie Kirk's murder will be furious at the Nigel Farage who made Lucy Connolly a star of the Reform conference

ChatGPT was only pretending to write a book?
Wow, it really is human.

This is fascinating: www.reddit.com/r/OpenAI/s/I...

Someone “worked on a book with ChatGPT” for weeks and then sought help on Reddit when they couldn’t download the file. Redditors helped them realized ChatGPT had just been roleplaying/lying and there was no file/book…

I have retired from hard games because I am just not up to it any more! Tiny Bookshop is v much my level now but I am comfortable with that I think - at least until the next GTA is out so I can continue my streak of only getting 2% of the way through it

@olihawkins.com hello! Came to check if you’re on here, as we’re in the final week of prep for our eldest son going off to university, and I had a happy flashbacks to ‘10 slices of toast and a pint of tea’ late nights :)

Hey, congratulations! That's one genuinely nice thing I read on the internet today and it's only 11.01am :)

Also if I haven't said this before, Brian & Roger is wonderful.
