Saying the quiet part out loud. Why not? Nobody is going to do a damn thing about it. And he’s going to do it again. All things being fair we would bury the Republicans in the midterms. But we won’t. Because nothing is fair now.

Political commentator on NPR news over the lunch hour stated that if Amy Klobuchar decides to get into the gubernatorial race in Minnesota it’s over for the Republicans. I believe our hope is in preserving the states so moving some of our strongest politicians into governor’s roles is essential.

Regardless of what Governor Walz decides to do in the future, I appreciate his service to the state and our nation.

Looking forward to a certain someone announcing her bid for the office.

“We need to message around this consistently from this point forward.”
Quite simply, any mail-in voter must now place their ballot in the mail at least ONE WEEK sooner than they might have in previous years...or be encouraged to return them in person, if possible.

We need to message around this consistently from this point forward.

Mail-in voting faces new hurdle as postal service formalizes postmark practice
Guidelines announced on Dec. 24 allow postmarks to reflect processing date rather than mailing date, affecting 14 states with grace periods for late-arriving ballots, including Massachusetts.

🧵Hope everyone realizes that China invading Taiwan would be far worse than Trump seizing Venezuela.

Venezuela only produces like 2% of world oil output, and there's plenty of idle capacity elsewhere.

So it's pretty much irrelevant otherwise to the rest of the world's economy.

But Taiwan...

Around half of global semiconductor fab capacity is out of Taiwan.

It's so important to the world economy that invading it would fuck up the entire planet's economy and cause massive economic pain to virtually every country and economic sector.

I agree with this statement.
The U.S. just crossed $38.5 trillion in national debt, a new all-time high.

Our national debt is now rising by $1 trillion every 180 days

I’m convinced that much of our $38.5 trillion of national debt is due to fraud

The U.S. isn’t trillions of dollars in debt, it’s trillions of dollars in fraud.

Fantastic educational thread, full of weekend reading!
Now that Trump says the US will "run" Venezuela, this thread is even more important than it already was.
Some thoughts on what Trump has done in Venezuela and what it might mean for US national security. Caveat: not a Latin America scholar so this is focused on US policy. Clearly huge consequences for Venezuela that others can address.

First, despite the buildup, I didn't think Trump would do it.

I used to think some dogs were great, some were dull, some were mean, real roll of the dice.
