Hi everyone, it looks like I ran out of time. I have so many dreams that I wanted to fulfill and plans to create new stories for you. There are a few in progress that might come to fruition in a few years if things work out. I did not ever imagine I would live to this age and end up a writer, editor, activist, and more. As a kid riddled with insecurity and internalized ableism, I could not see a path forward. It was thanks to friendships and some great teachers who believed in me that I was able to fight my way out of miserable situations into a place where I finally felt comfortable in my skin. We need more stories about us and our culture. You all, we all, deserve the everything and more in such a hostile, ableist environment. Our wisdom is incisive and unflinching. I'm honored to be your ancestor and believe disabled oracles like us will light the way to the future. Don't let the bastards grind you down. I love you all.

AT THE MET CLOISTERS I count what does not belong. In the rare treasures room, heads shuffle closer from across display glass. People fall in love around stolen objects. I long to drink out of the cup from “Somewhere in the Near East.” The label reads crusaders & merchants alike loved to carry fragile objects from the Holy Land, even at risk of breaking. Encased in glass, we are remembered for when they were fragile. There is only one object labeled “Somewhere in the Near East” in the rare treasures room. How often were they careful with our bodies.

The meme of "my body is a machine that turns 'the passage of time' into 'not writing'." This is a joke about writing and how so much of writing is not writing— or at least, that's what I tell myself when I am avoiding writing, which is a big part of my actual job. I mean writing, not *not* writing. Bosses: do not look at this, especially if you are expecting something from me soon. Obviously, everything is going great. I am not procrastinating by making this meme. I am not deliberately wasting time in every possible way I can think of after already having made breakfast int he most laborious way possible, catching up on email and slack messages, engaging in some discord discourse, and checking every social media feed I have the misfortune to remain entangled with, and I fully intend on starting to write for real the moment I hit the button to send this tweet. Yes, I still call them tweets. It's an act of resistance at this point, calling them tweets. I remember there was some discussion of what to call them, and I have to say I did laugh about "skeets," since the act is comparable in some ways: it feels good in the moment, but results in something useless and gross just moments later... is this too much to get into here? I don't know if the wrongheadedly censorious people who run this platform even check descriptive alt text, come to think of it. Anyway, I should get back to writing, for real, which I will do now. That reminds me, did you catch the discourse the other day about dialogue choices in games? I don't have much to say, really, other than that creative works can be literally whatever you want them to be, so arguing about them isn't as productive as simply making the work you want to see in the world (and which I'll get back to doing in just a moment). If you want to see my approach to dialogue choices, why not play my visual novel, Eliza? If you've made it this far and haven't yet, I suggest you check it out. Okay, back to writing for real now. Definitely.

After Mount Tamalpais, I Tell Etel Adnan About Supernatural - Summer Farah "I make paintings and watercolors of Tamalpais. Again and again. Why do I insist? Am I trying to hold some image, to capture some meaning, to assert its presence, to measure myself to its timelessness, to fight, or to accept? —Etel Adnan, Journey to Mount Tamalpais" I understand, I tell her, the desire to not only return but to be consumed. I have had obsessions, I have been made small by those obsessions, I wonder if you would agree it is possible for something to be absolute but still unseen. I was Cassandra, once. I wanted dearly to go to the mountain. Instead of cliches, I design my pulse to loneliness anew. It’s different than ten years ago—I go outside, now, take its contradiction with me. Oh the most painful love-story of them all! These gaps between comprehension! I could never forget, no matter how many times they beg me to. The mountain was there before us and it will be there after. Yes, a return; each journey wrought another history, each day I try to capture its form; why do I insist? In lieu of a paintbrush, I sew my voice in its throat. In the Beginning, there was Blood, Horror, Myth, Obsession; and then there was Love, there was, I swear, when the static spilled! again and again, our eyes stained with its evidence, We find new proof uncovered on every return. We were all Cassandra, once, young and hysterical, oh, I hope you’ll understand I take it so seriously when I say the violence shifted subjects. Oh, we screamed! we screamed! We swore our eyes were true! Audience becomes the blood, the horror, the myth, the static, Again, and again, you said, again, and again, I say, again, again.
