Suddenly, Link finds the golden sword forced into his hand, the Great Fairy's fingers phasing through his own as she melts into smoke. He barely has a moment to grasp what just happened before her voice echoes again at his side, forcing him to tense up with his new blade at the ready. "Gold to wound." The Great Fairy appears, taller and looming over him again, fanning out a collection of silver arrows in front of her grinning face with one hand. She smiles at him through the gaps of their glowing tips. "And silver to banish." With a snap of her wrist, she gathers all the arrows into a single bundle in her palm, and reaches out to hand them off to Link. Link, understandably, hesitates, gripping his lifted shield tightly in anticipation, but eventually, he relents, and holds up his hand to take the offering, fingers still looped into the grip of his shield. The Great Fairy speaks again. "He still thinks my magic is also his... simply because I embraced the darkness."

So I noticed a very special like on my most recent comic page??
Instead of the Great Fairy from my comic, famed and beloved baby otter mascot Chiitan leaps from a smoky background, wielding the golden Master Sword with a glint in their eye. Link, in the foreground, even though we can only see the back of his head, looks taken aback with exaggerated anime sweat drops.

The room suddenly fills with billowing steam and smoke from the instantly quenched heat, the force of which Link has to hold up his shield to brace against. The Great Fairy's face is visible above the steam for a moment, half-closed eyes and thorn-scraped scars glowing red. Now left in the dark, Link coughs into his hand, squinting upwards where the Great Fairy once was. His ear perks to a sound cutting through the smoke. The sound of a blade cutting through air. He turns just in time, shield raised, to deflect a blow from the Great Fairy lunging at him through the fog, now Hylian-sized and wielding the Master Sword against him. The sword now glows a bright gold from blade to hilt, illuminating her face and his as the magic blade grinds sparks against his shield.

Though Link recoils with fear from the Great Fairy's suddenly wild expression, he only has to consider thoughtfully for a moment before he has his answer. We don't hear his words, but we see who he's talking about: Princess Zelda, with folded hands and a tearful smile. His expression shows conviction. The fairy, meanwhile, listens from the shadows, barely visible except for her glowing eyes. "You ARE an honest person..." The shadows lift from her face, exposing a much more gentle smile. "I like you." She offers her large hand to Link, and he offers her his unsheathed Master Sword in turn. With the blade clutched and hidden by her closed hand, she brings it to her lips. "I will give you something important. To give Ganon his last moment... you'll definitely need my power." As she breathes into her hand, her face is lit by the increasing glow within it, like she's stoking a fire with bellows, before suddenly, she plunges her white-hot fist into the pool with a sizzling hiss.

Link looks up at the Great Fairy with a faintly determined expression, before he shakes his head no again. She presses a sharp nail to her lower lip beneath a bemused smile in response. "Hmm... Then you trust that my decisions aren't inherently cruel... simply because I've embraced a selfish face." We zoom out to see more of her intrigued expression as she muses aloud. "Just as your decisions aren't inherently selfless, simply because you are the hero. You don't wish to save the world for its sake... nor for the sake of the goddesses. They burdened you with rescuing their accursed treasure, after all." The headless fairy statue stands in silent vigil above them both, bringing attention to the triangular treasure in its hands. The Great Fairy's expression grows more wild as she speaks, eyes widening, mouth opening in an excited grin. "No. You will save it for YOUR sake. YOUR reasons, whatever they are. Because THAT is what will make you see this through. What desire will you plunge into the abyss to chase? What do you change yourself for, hero?"

Link, pausing in the middle of drawing his sword, stares down at a hand that has emerged, dripping, from the dark pool. It grips a jewel-coated dagger in its hand. "Did you drop this?" the voice questions. When Link shakes his head no and sheathes his sword, the hand and dagger both vanish back beneath the surface with a splash, accompanied by an amused "Ha ha ha" echoing through the room. A woman's face emerges, wearing a crown of thorns. The room darkens, as red light trickles up the roots of the fairy statue behind her. She rises above the water's surface to loom over Link, revealing the form of a Great Fairy with long, unevenly braided hair, dark eyes, tattered ears, sharp nails, and tattered wings that resemble thorny stems more than insect wings. She grins down at Link, one hand lifted to her smiling lips as he recoils slightly from her. "An honest person, at least..." she remarks.

Gesturing to herself, the Great Fairy speaks. "I know I don't quite have the image of a faerie... Do you believe that Ganon's cruel magic is to blame?" Her grin opens wider, exposing wet, sharp teeth. "Or that THIS is who I've always been?" "You've seen how this realm works, hero. Everyone's faces reflect their hearts here. Yours would be of a gentle animal... were it not for the Moon Pearl, and your need to hold that sword." We see the glowing Moon Pearl hanging from Link's neck, where he gently grasps it in his fingers. Within the pearl, a tiny image of a rabbit's head is visible. In the next panel, we can see a more distant view of Link looking up with modest concern at the looming Great Fairy as she examines her nails. The room around them both begins to fill with smoke from her pool. "So who else but a cruel faerie... would relish in becoming something her sisters fear?"

This year for Halloween, Amber leans into the power of mean girls, dressing up as Susie from Deltarune! She's even using some of her shapeshifting to be stronger, sharper, and wilder than usual, appropriate for cosplaying best girl~
Amber has dressed up as Susie from Deltarune, wearing her signature Dark World outfit of a dark vest, purple outfit, and spiked bands. She stands with her axe resting over her shoulders, sharing a shark-toothed grin with the viewer. Even her usual demilynx features have shifted to be a bit more Susie-like, with scaled hands and claws, long wild hair, and a more muscular physique.
