They've really devalued everyone; i remember going to a "mad men" panel 15+ years ago and realizing that every behind the scenes creative person on the show was thinking their contribution through like an author in their own right and i cant think of anything that feels that *invested in* now.

I think bb was the peak of the form and no lesser version ever really took off; also they started killing almost everything after 2 seasons to avoid paying a decent wage; so fewer 5+ szn epics period.

Workday is basically 7-6 with all I've taken on.

Often ask myself what the fuck I think I'm doing; cause a lot serves only a few kids, I'm in a small town etc; and the answer is, "Hopefully, good."

Which is a privilege cause a lot of peoples' rage is cause they can't do shit about anything.

Mixed trios main eventing a landmark show is such a cool marker for AEW to lay down. Broken up by ICE, grillbot, and testosterone supplement ads; so we didn't get TOO much escape from the decline, but pretty unthinkable as a new fan back in 2019. 🤼‍♂️

One Battle feels like it captures the Pynchon thing better than Inherent Vice did, which is kind of unexpected, but like, the sadness and the esoteric crackle are much more present here. Long, but largely cause it had to be. Its a generational epic of late America after all.
