Reminder for breast cancer awareness month: get your checkups!
On this day in 1987, Nancy Reagan was recovering at Bethesda Naval Hospital after undergoing a radical mastectomy for breast cancer. Rather than keeping her diagnosis private, Mrs. Reagan chose to speak openly about her experience, becoming a powerful voice for early detection & regular screenings.

#BreastCancer is the most common cancer among women globally and represents approximately a quarter of all cancers that occur in women every year.
Breast cancer is highly curable if detected in its early stages and adequate treatment is provided.
