Do you think that if he does that, and MAGAts learn the hard way that Repugs won’t give them a thin dime, that everything that benefits them is a “Democrat program”, they’ll snap out of it? Maybe it’s a suicide cult like Jonestown or Heaven’s Gate?

It is also used more generally in sociological-historical-anthropological terms to refer to the ones who wield the most power in a society, but I take your point. 🙂

I think it’s pretty clear that Thiel and all elites are in a delusional little bubble where they cannot get any dose of reality. Which is one of the reasons that the collapse of societies historically goes very badly for them.

One needs only to look at red states to see that they haven’t ever known how to govern. Their blighted economies, crumbling infrastructure, poor individual and environmental health, and high crime rates are the Repugs’ evil vision for the entire nation.

I think these oligarchs who think they will be safe from disease as long as they take the jab will learn a little bit more than they wanted to about the role of herd immunity in protecting their own health in the coming years.

The postmodern definition of a recession to mean: “Not unless the stock market tanks” means that their use of that term is very misleading. Many areas have been experiencing a recession in their local areas since 2020. Biden was trying to fix it, but oh well.

They even had major metropolitan centers that were concurrent with medieval Europe at the time, Cahokia and Chaco spring to mind. They had trade routes that crisscrossed NA, Mexico, and Canada. What they lacked were gun manufacturers.

I don’t think Qatar counts as an ally. They are patrons of the president. They bought him, and this is what they bought. And of course, that is outrageous.

I don’t know enough about military history to weigh in on that. I think the nations we’ve done that with have been allies. I understand a military hegemony like the US might have to be super paranoid and security-conscious.

Exactly. And although we have invited other nations to train with our military on our bases, they have not been nations we have recently been antagonizing with our chaotic and disruptive ME wars.

It seems to me to be a national security risk, training foreign pilots on our equipment and technology who may face our troops across a battlefield one day.

Aw, don’t worry, I don’t. I judge people by their actions and the impact of their words. Ol’ Tucker is just virtue-signaling. He is one of the countless RW coolies who paved each step of the road leading us here, brick by brick. He is a fascist supporter, which pretty much makes him a fascist.
