An armadillo dug a hole under my deck. I put a camera under there to monitor activities. The videos are frequently bad or confusing. I am interested in wildlife, invasive plant eradication, weather, books, and rocks.

I've adopted two kittens I caught at the feeding station when they were really small and they don't go outside. Coyotes like to eat cats and I occasionally find parts and pieces and a purple collar once which was very upsetting.

A feral kitty investigates the Critter Cam. We have a feral cat feeding station in the community to attempt to tame them enough to trap and spay/neuter. It seems hopeless because people drop off unwanted animals out here in the country all the time.

I thought the opossum was going to attack the camera again but he was just tired.

Turtle! Not able to count its toes but I think it is a three-toed box turtle. www.texasturtles.org/three-toed-b...

Unknown if its rage had abated, or it spotted a snack, or something larger and meaner scared it off. Camera is fine. New rain cover, three straps of duct tape, and good to go until the next attack. The opossum has 50 teeth, more than any other terrestrial mammal in North America.

The outfacing Critter Cam is back in operation. The possum chewed through two straps of duct tape, chewed through the silicone rain cover, removed the camera and tape from the brick and rolled / dragged it about 5 feet from the original location.

A feral kitty is concerned about the camera situation. Will he be blamed? Leaves the crime scene.

South Texas game cam catches a raccoon riding a javelina (Dicotyles tajacu).

The deer feeder corn attracts a lot of other species, but maybe we should worry about them all teaming up against us?

(📷: Jeff Davis, TAMU-Kingsville alumni forum)
On a black and white game cam, three javelinas are browsing corn while a raccoon sits on one of their backs. The lighting produces laser-eyes in the raccoon, who is secretly one of the X-Men. A raccoon knight on a javelina steed. "Onward, Pigasus! Let us show them the meaning of haste". Motion blurred, black and white game cam shot.

We’re talking about why native plants matter and how to plant them in the city tonight at the Olde Richmond Civic Association meeting.

Gave out zines and seeds and worksheets and it was cute!

Nice things are still possible in this shitty timeline of ours.
Sarah stands in front of a PowerPoint in a room full of people sitting in folding chairs. Everybody’s got a worksheet

Possum gets a drink. The raccoons prefer to wash their feet in the water pans further out so the water in the bowl next to the camera probably tastes better.

Is the Critter Hole available? Still nope.
