No, it’s because construction costs have skyrocketed & municipalities have gotten cozy with development industry, giving them the green light with zoning reforms to build only the most profitable housing “by right” while not investing sufficiently in affordable housing. Happening now, Richmond VA

@kaine.senate.gov Vote NO going forward. Do not waste our leverage.
If I were @schumer.senate.gov, I would not agree to help Republicans fund this regime on the "promise" of an ACA vote at a later date. It didn't work the last time when they promised to fund DC. It won't work this time either. The House won't touch it.

We had all the momentum

•The American people were blaming Republicans

•A landslide Democratic victory

•Courts ordering Trump to fund SNAP benefits

Yet you couldn't convince your caucus to fight for us

It's the final straw that breaks the back of your tenure as leader, Senator

Time to step down
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

Details of Ghislaine Maxwell's prison ‘luxuries’

“The deference and servility to Ms. Maxwell have reached such preposterous levels that one of the top officials at the facility has complained that he is ‘sick of having to be Maxwell’s bitch"

Democrats reveal whistleblower details of Ghislaine Maxwell prison ‘luxuries’
In a letter to the president, House Democrats say Maxwell’s treatment as she prepares a clemency request makes the convicted sex offender look like a “guest at a Trump hotel.”

Trump’s plan—send the money to the people (won’t happen) so they can pay the money to insurance companies…with zero ACA protections.

Reminder of some of the protections ACA offers:
Young adults (age 26 and under) on their parents’ plan, people with disabilities, woman, pregnancies, preventative
Trump wants to end the ACA. He said Republicans should send ACA payments meant for insurers directly to Americans.

The math isn’t mathing. My premium’s up way more than the tax credit, and everyone’s costs are different. How would they manage that when they can’t manage basic governance?

donald trump and his cruel and inhumane GOP congressional flunkies have gifted Dems all of the ingredients they need to win midterm elections in a bigly fashion. But democratic leaders and candidates must formulate a coherent, cohesive message that resonates and unites diverse voters #USDemocracy

Not to be a wet blanket, but I care far less about Mr. Jeffries breaking the floor speech record and more about hoping he’ll continue his speech into tomorrow to scuttle the GOP’s hopes of a July Fourth bill signing.

Feasible? Probably not, but I'd like to see him try.

Jeffries, still going strong 8 hours in: "Extraordinary to me, Mr.
Speaker, that you got folks in this town talking about draining the swamp. Guess what. You are the swamp ... we've never seen anything like this -- the type of corruption that has been unleashed on the American people."

Yesterday, a community hospital in southwest Nebraska announced it will close a clinic, citing the looming Medicaid cuts in this bill. Sadly, if it becomes law, that closure will be just the beginning.
Dear Reps. LaLota, Garbarino, Malliotakis, Lawler, Stefanik, Langworthy, and Tenney:

The Senate version made this bill even worse for New York hospitals and patients, slashing funding, capping key payments, and hitting our providers the hardest.

Valadao’s district includes Kern County, where nearly half of children rely on Medi-Cal.

This bill would gut those services—ripping care from kids while giving millionaires $55,000/year in tax cuts.
