Powerful piece by @drrachelclarke.com on the COVID inquiry. Those who say it’s easy to be wise in hindsight are being utterly disingenuous. Many of us spoke out at the time, and it’s in the public record.

CPTSD will throw plenty of symptomatology at us that will make it feel "impossible" to return to our recovery mindset & tools through the storm. That feeling of despair can be very deep-- but we cannot abandon ourselves.

Reaching 100,000 people through DBI is truly remarkable. 10s of thousands of people in distress have received immediate compassionate support. I’m incredibly proud to be part of this world-leading initiative, which is transforming how we support people in their moments of greatest need

Exposure therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all.
In TF-CBT, exposure may happen through talking, writing, drawing—or even song lyrics for kids who express through music. The key is finding what feels safe and manageable.

To those who've felt unlovable:

This is often a painful aftermath of not having support when you needed it most. I hope you find ways to love all parts of you, but especially the parts that felt rejected or like they they didn't belong.

This week’s #ShowMeYourKnits prompt: CABLES. I used to only knit cable knit projects. Then I found stranded colourwork 🙃 But I still dabble in cable knits here and there. I’ve gotten somewhat ambitious (and maybe crazy) and am knitting a pullover for my son (that he had better wear!).

Sometimes, in trauma recovery, getting better does not always mean feeling better.

We developed coping skills, distractions & distortions to feel better in the short term, but they didn't heal. Healing doesn't just mean feeling better, it means becoming better at feeling ❤️‍🩹
