✊🏿✊🏻Let’s come together as SISTERS (not just CISters), warriors & survivors.

🏳️‍⚧️ Transwomen are women & non-binary people are valid 🏳️‍🌈

We leave no-one behind. We stand in solidarity with all women.

‼️ March for the end of gender-based, sexual and racially motivated violence.
sutrbirmingham.bsky.social
💔 Violence towards women, girls & gender diverse people takes many forms. We are targeted for our race, our religion, the clothes we wear, our gender, our sexuality, our identity and for demanding equal rights and control over our own bodies.

👑 Together we rise! 👑

🤍 Join us as we shine a light at the start of 16 days of activism for the Elimination of Violence against women and girls. 🤍

Please ask your friends, family and neighbours to go along. The far right has so far failed to get a toehold in Wolverhampton. We would like to keep it that way!

Solidarity with all the sisters in Oldbury and the entire community who gathered tonight in a vigil... www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crim...

We seek to mobilise to oppose Trump and the misogyny he represents and to protect and further the rights of women and girls in the UK and worldwide.
sutrbirmingham.bsky.social
The UK government's willingness to platform, welcome and praise Trump emboldens others who speak about and treat women and minorities in a hateful way and who seek to curtail our rights.
sutrbirmingham.bsky.social
Trump and his government's misogyny has seen full expression in the rolling back of legal rights of women in the US, including abortion rights and the rights of LGBTQ+ & trans women, which not only endanger our sisters in the US, but also embolden reactionary & misogynistic organisations in the UK.
sutrbirmingham.bsky.social
Trump has a long history of sexual assault and intimidation, and consistently uses aggressively misogynistic language - dehumanising women by reducing them to their physical appearance and trivialising their accomplishments.
sutrbirmingham.bsky.social
The UK government's decision to welcome Donald Trump to the UK for a second presidential visit, where he is likely to be feted by Starmer's government, further normalises the extreme misogyny Trump represents.

Women Against the Far Right (SuTR Birmingham)

STATEMENT - Trump Not Welcome 🧵
sutrbirmingham.bsky.social
✊️ Together we can stand with all survivors and victims of abuse, unite against the far right and challenge the racist lies and scapegoating.

The far right is using women's safety as a weapon to spread racism and division. They are not defenders of women - they exploit violence against women and children to push hate…

(Statement from organisers in Alt text)
Statement from organisers of the Tuesday vigil.

We are a collection of people who live and work locally and want to fight back the rise of fascism.

- We are horrified at the recent rape and racist attacks in our area.
- We stand in support and solidarity with the young Sikh woman who was targeted.
- We only have access to and intend to post information on the case that has been made public by Police and will support catching the perpetrators
- We will not be naming or engaging in any way that could identify or single out women the Sikh community.
- This is a grassroots community event - no one is a politician.
- It is Lead by Black and Brown women who are scared it could happen to them with support of other comrades and allies
- We are encouraging women from all backgrounds to speak out in support.
- This happened in broad daylight next to a school - how can anyone feel safe?
- The recent target of migrants has lead to racists feeling emboldened
- Tommy Robinson has publicly supported Sikhs in a video statement while inciting inslamophobia. Our Sikh members want to ensure that they are visibly seen as not supporting him.
- This is a community issue not just Sikh

There can be no climate justice without racial justice. We will not stand by as politicians and the far right vilify refugees and migrants. We remain, as always, united against racism and oppression. Division and hatred will not win. ✊✊🏽✊🏿 @standuptoracismuk.bsky.social
