The Bush rebrand is kinda wild to me. I still haven't forgiven him for #nochildleftbehind. That's why we're in this mess now. Hell, to keep it a buck, I still have beef with Colin Powell.

I've been rebuilding my book and DVD collections but I've been slacking on CDs. I really regret getting rid of my CD binder back in the early 2010s
i started collecting CDs again and i completely agree with this
the vinyl revival completely sucks. CDs have better fidelity, are more portable, less wasteful, and significantly cheaper. every time i see an album get some big fancy remaster and that remaster is only available on vinyl and streaming i want to scream. no one is gonna hear the details bud.

Just finished #TheBlueprint by Rae Giana Rashad and if I had the physical copy, I'd throw this damn book across the room. Wtf

Black ladies of BlueSky- in our era of rest, relaxation, and protecting our peace what hobbies are you picking up in 2025?
I'm learning to roller skate this year, reading more, and weightlifting. What are you getting into?

My first read of the year & it's a solid 5 stars for me. Imagine one day everyone in the world receives a box w/ a string inside, the length of which corresponds to how long they will live, measuring down to the month.
Do you open your box? Do you let your string define you?

People who raise chickens for eggs, do your chickens produce eggs more beautiful than this?? If so, let's see. And what breed of chicken do you have? Asking for my future self.

Ann Telnaes resigned after the Washington Post editorial page killed her cartoon. It’s worth a share.

Big Tech executives are bending the knee to Donald Trump and it’s no surprise why: Billionaires like Jeff Bezos like paying a lower tax rate than a public school teacher.

Wellness by Nathan Hill. It's a beautiful and touching exploration of a modern marriage. Fair warning- it's long (too long imo) but the payout is worth the 600 pages
please tell me about a book (including audiobook) you enjoyed this year. it doesn't need to be from 2024 and it doesn't need to be a definitive favorite, but I'd love to hear about a pleasant surprise or discovery :)

Minutes after finishing Don't Cry for Me, I looked up the author to see what his other works were & was excited to see that he had written a follow-up from Isaac's perspective. I can't wait to get my hands on this!

What are some of yall's most anticipated reads for 2025?

Last night I told my husband that I wanted to start getting up at 4 am to weight lift or use the spin bike & that I wanted him to be my accountabilabuddy.
Y'all, why did this man wake me up at 0400 today talking about "It's time to go exercise." 😭 Sir, it's Saturday.

The Other Wes Moore was assigned reading for a course back in 2012 or so. To this day, it is the most moving biography I've ever read. I still regret that I missed his signing when he came to campus 😕
(Also, I assigned this book to my nephews for their summer reading challenge this year!)
I just finished reading The Other Wes Moore, and it’s easily one of the most compelling biographies I’ve read. Ever. I'll be back with a more in-depth review. But for now, go get this book. 📚 #BlackBookSky #BookSky

Who else is watching #TheUltimatum on Netflix? I won't give predictions bc I'm wrong every season but Aria, Zaina, and Caleb are the only ones I'm rooting for.

I don't normally buy physical copies of books that I haven't already read but I decided to take a chance. Highly Suspicious & Unfairly Cute was on the Lily Reads book club a while back & I've been wanting to check it out

If you've already read these, what do you rate them?

• I hated Dale so much that I squealed with glee when he got bit. 🤪

• Abraham's death is way sadder than Glen's, & Negan will never redeem himself in my eyes. Idc 😑

• I didn't see a SINGLE #Richonne breadcrumb until the rewatch. 🫣

This year I learned that I enjoy books with an unlikable main character.

After DNFing Babel, I was hesitant to pick up another Kuang book, but I ended up giving Yellowface 4.25 stars. Any recs for books with a MC you love to hate?

We listen and we don't judge. #bookish edition.

I did not enjoy Parable of the Sower. I found Lauren insufferable & every mention of Earthseed irritated me. I won't say the fanfare is unearned but as a lover of dystopian fiction, this was my most disappointing read of the year.
