3) Reward yourself with more dopamine

You did it. Congrats!

Now, don’t skimp on your reward. As long as it’s safe & you can afford it, do it

Ideally the reward should be better than the bribe

Do you want alone time, rest, a certain meal, going out, quality time w/ people etc?

I love this one! It’s something I’ve done for a while and it works well, especially if you have several playlists for specific tasks.
Some optional suggestions:

Play a special playlist so the music gives you a boost, make a snack bowl so your fave snacks keep you going, take dance breaks to release energy, turn the task into a game, do it with someone you like or do it while on the phone with someone you like

2) Make tasks fun, new, interesting, pleasurable, challenging in a good way

Fun/interesting things, pleasure, & light problem solving create dopamine, something ADHD folks are naturally low on (& it’s needed for motivation, focus etc)

You gotta attach dopamine to boring things

the problem of saying “ok I’ll do the thing & reward myself after” and the you find yourself just giving yourself the reward early & never doing the task

That’s because you need extra dopamine to even start a task b/c that’s just how your ADHD neurotype works

Something I’ve been helping my ADHD clients with attach dopamine to tasks:

My Before-During-After system

I could explain this in more detail on my blog/on video if y’all want

1) Bribe yourself with dopamine before the activity/task. Sweeten the deal for yourself.

Cool, translanguaging!

"Translanguaging, as opposed to code-switching, does not merely involve alternating between languages based on context; rather, it draws on the entirety of the speaker’s linguistic resources to construct meaning and facilitate communication."

I love to hear it. #LangSky

Looking at books together, following the baby's pace and interest, is a wonderful start to the shared reading experience. Early picture books can be discussed in any/all languages, setting the scene for children's multilingual literacy!

We visited the University of East London's Baby Lab with @frankcottrellboyce.bsky.social to discover how reading can play a key role in children's healthy development.

We're calling on partners across sectors to join #ReadingRights and make sure every child experiences this:

K-12 teacher- I keep a file of student notes/drawings/gifts and pull them out when I’m feeling incompetent. They make me remember that it doesn’t actually matter if I am or not, if I can inspire something in others, I’ve done what I need to do.

I'm in the process of getting a fulfillment centre in the US. To prevent customers from paying the super high tariffs. It will take me some time to set up. So please be patient with me. Prices will go up for products but won't be nearly as high as with tariffs.
