During this Roman festival, the season's new wines were tested to make sure they were ageing properly.

Libations were given to Bacchus to ensure that the wine would continue to ferment properly for consumption the following year.

Sulphur-crested cockatoos are large, highly intelligent, birds found in wooded habitats in Australia, New Guinea, and some of the islands of Indonesia. This one (probably male) is peering out of a nest hole in a very old Spotted Gum. In captivity, can live for 70+ years.

Yep... and we have begun building the Naval Strike Missile (NSM) and Joint Strike Missile (JSM) as well as joint development of the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM). Others in the works as well, apparently.

For professional reasons I should have listened to that "antifa summit" yesterday, but I learned here DHS Sec. Noem, the govt's authoritative voice on such matters, said -- literally -- 'antifa' is just as organized, sophisticated, and dangerous as Hezbollah, ISIS, or Hamas.

What is wild about this story is that Deloitte has been allowed to keep 80% of the massive fees it charged for using ChatGPT to produce rubbish and passing it off as actual work. (One might add, why was a consulting firm purporting to give legal advice anyway, hmmm?)
