NEW INTERVIEW ALERT! In my quest to ascend Catalyst's corporate ladder, I found myself speaking with Executive Editor John Helfers. He was the perfect person to ask about upcoming fiction and where the BattleTech universe is headed, narratively speaking.

I propose November 1st as resurgence day. Halloween ends, and we all pick up the phones again. MasterCard and Visa, bare minimum, once per day. Every day. All of us. They are only hiring the usual number of holiday workers, this would frighten credit card companies. “It’s not going away”
A source familiar w/ internal workings at MasterCard notes the company does not plan to recruit additional call center workers for the Christmas season, as MasterCard does not expect higher call volume than usual. A resurgence of calls re censorship during the busy season would be huge strategically

This sucks!
Youtube has announced that all low-res videos (i.e. older ones) are to be automatically AI upscaled to HD.
Creators can opt-out on a per video basis (but the channel may be long abandoned).

When researching props or behind the scenes, old videos are useful, but not if upscaling produces artefacts.

Its profoundly irritating to be barred from buying something that is legal to buy and own 🤷
Source familiar with MasterCard‘s internal workings: The company finds the censorship focus from consumers “profoundly irritating“ amid larger political issues — they want the controversy around paypros censorship to quietly disappear

Let's keep showing them how profoundly irritating we can be, because they have an easy out. It's right there!

I can’t believe this time last year I had the energy to get going early enough to read hundreds of Webcomics every day before work.

All the stuff that’s happened since has left me with barely the energy to get dressed before a shift. ☹️ And I know I’m not alone in that feeling. 🙁

Every time you like an artist’s artwork, an angel grows their wings.

Every time you repost an artist’s post, an angel grows artillery and heat-seaking missiles to fight the forces of evil.

It's a spooky season, and if you ask me, genetically engineered giants wearing a battle suit that can rip mech to shreds are damn scary. Especially if it is middle of the night and they have Summoner mech for a company.

This might be my favorite JWST image from the nearby Universe so far. You’re seeing the late stages of evolution of a star like the Sun, after it’s exhausted its nuclear fuel. This is a transient phase where it’s ejected its outer gas layers, which are then irradiated by the hot stellar remnant.
Another STUNNING image from JWST, this time of the Red Spider Nebula—the vast, wispy, gaseous remains of a now-dead star, the white dwarf core still glowing in the centre.

Hey, remember PayPal's policy agaisnt nsfw content, despite being popular and makes money (which artists and developers need to live)? And now ChatGPT allowing nsfw content? Sounds hypocritical, don't you think?
