Unfortunate. We got our pup Marlowe through Petfinder--he is a rescue from Texas, and transported along with several other dogs to families here on the east coast. Hopefully the word gets out or the policy changes soon because we were very lucky to find Marlowe.

And I don't think it would hurt to ask Petfinder to reconsider this policy, which is has had the effect of closing intake for small rescues in Texas, making the animal welfare problems here even more unmanageable.

Apparently they have changed the filter setting so that one has to opt in to filter for out of town pets which can be transported, instead of making that the default, and without indicating anyone need opt in. It is impacting a lot of Texas rescues.
