People aren’t nasty straight away, something makes them that way and shitty call centre corporate rules are a large part of that.

Also, adding a 2 minute lecture about how abuse isn’t tolerated is very much treating the symptom not the cause.

I mean, I totally get that call centre staff should not be subjected to abuse. But also if you have to open with a giant lecture then there’s probably more to the story 😆

If your customer helpline immediately opens up with a long recording about how abusive behaviour isn’t tolerated then it probably shows that you’re probably really fucking tedious to deal with.
