I’m not surprised. Wasting money of an (extorted) stadium rather than using those funds where they are most needed will do that.

Moody’s had no option but to downgrade Tassie’s credit rating to the worst of any state. To say the Government and Opposition are fiscally illiterate is being kind, as they couldn’t even be trusted to manage the cash for a chook raffle. #auspol #politas

Here’s an idea, rather than waste money on a stadium, fix the fucking health system!
Mental health beds closed in Hobart due to rat infestation
A rat infestation has forced the temporary closure of Peacock House, one of Tasmania's few public inpatient mental health facilities.

Tasmania is broke, the $1B plus stadium will only make the situation so much worse. Abetz's only solution is to "right-size" the public service. There will be mass forced redundancies, which will impact services. So much for being the government of jobs. #politas

Tasmania’s economy is in a diabolical situation. Saul Eslake says no one is to blame but the Govt. Eric Abetz must be held accountable. We CANNOT afford a stadium.

One, yes one…. Young man in Tasmania was good enough to be drafted to the AFL this year. So much for not having a stadium meaning we destroy the dreams of hundreds of young players. The rhetoric of a Tasmanian team is used too often to pull at heartstrings… very few, very elite players get drafted

Don Baker talking up “the last time we had Ashes in Tasmania” he fails to mention that the match was played during Covid because WA couldn’t host it. And how many people attended ??? What a joke @slowguns.bsky.social

First electric cars and buses, now trucks: in the past we were often told that electric trucks would not be feasible.

But the market is picking up speed and electric trucks have become a reality. Expectations are for significant market expansion in the coming years.

Tasmanians will be paying a lot more than the stated $375M. Rockliff's "not a red cent more" promise is a fairy tale. We will likely never know the real cost. It doesn't have to be monetary. The promised private investors never materialised. They lied about that. It's a complete mess. #politas
As stadium vote nears, how much will Tasmanians actually be paying?
There are many questions still to be answered when it comes to how the stadium will be paid for.

I wonder if the salmon industry will be held accountable and required to compensate the rock lobster industry?
The Tasmanian government closed two zones within the state's rock lobster fishery just hours after the commercial season opened. The closure is in response to concerns about an antibiotic being used by salmon companies and the rock lobster industry's reputation in overseas markets.
