The Qatari Air Force facility isn’t worth a freak out. The base they’re going to use is commonly used for foreign pilots to train alongside our forces. Qatar bought these F15s like 10 years ago and will train with them in Idaho. It’s not a base owned and operated by them.

Besides linking Tylenol in pregnant women to autism, RFK Jr. now says circumcision is part of the reason why kids are autistic.

This is utterly insane. Emergency medicine is not equipped to perform surgery, advanced specialty care, or conditions requiring more than a few hours of treatment. It’s not their training and it’s not what they are outfitted to do. Plus an “ER model” is not a viable financial strategy.

Vascular dementia progression is uneven and patient-dependent. One fairly common feature is decline in fits and starts, followed by periods of relative stability. Additional cerebrovascular events, like TIAs, accelerate the decline.

Similar to what I teach at the med school & residency level about documentation: writing clear and distinct notes helps clarify & hone clinical reasoning.

But the pressures of the work and electronic medical record format have reduced it to a rote task rather than a useful exercise.
