Six Sojourns (Gamefound campaign) was delivered yesterday! 🎉 Today I cracked open the box, then counted and sorted everything. (There's beautiful and useful tuckboxes!) It's so much that it's a bit overwhelming, but it also looks so exciting! #boardgames
On the left, the box lid, gold foil lettering, and on the right a deep box full of game boards, punchboards, and bags of components. The blue components are the special sea serpent meeples. The playmat is also a Ryan Laukat design done for Game Toppers.

...and that's how the game with the fam ended! Horrified: Universal Monsters, 5-player game with Wolfman & Gillman. 2 fairly easy monsters because 1 person was less familiar with the game, and also...that monster deck goes down fast with high player counts! Some fun details in alt text! #boardgames
Blue board with yellow path, most of us ended up at The Camp or nearby for the defeat of Gillman (Wolfman having been dispatched earlier by my bro-in-law) We've got a couple of villager standees in the mix. Players standees have colored bases, villager standees clear bases. Upper left corner, the Creature From The Black Lagoon mini, knocked over onto its side. Upper right corner: the terror level was only one. (I got hospitalized) We saved every villager, but only because we got some amazing dice rolls. I've never seen so many blanks rolled before! There were only 2 hits in the whole game! 3 blanks when rolled for an attack on a villager! Stunning amount of good luck this time!

It's a very boardgame-y kind of day. This morning Six Sojourns Kickstarter delivered🎉 (Box marked in upper right square of pic) and we left an in-progress game of Obsession on the table to go play games with the family. So that's overlapping games😆 #boardgames
Obsession in progress, short side of the board, in the 3rd season in progress, so we're over halfway. 2 player game. We've both leveled up to 4 prestige.

A little bit of Ugly Christmas Sweaters card game. We're getting better at it! It's surprisingly thinky for a light trick-taking game. Since we don't play trick-takers often I think it's going to take a while for us to really get the strategy in depth! #boardgames

Learning Terra Nova #boardgames
My player board (Fairy faction, recommend for 1st game) At this point only 4 of my houses have been placed, nothing upgraded. Above the player board is the main Terra Nova board. Four player colors are used because we're playing the 2 player "Lucky Digger" variant.

Today the games we went for were light and silly: Moon Colony Bloodbath & Trollhalla 🤣 Final player boards for both. #boardgames
Player board for Moon Colony Bloodbath (Dr. Dibson) 3 Work tokens placed, 1 money, 2 food remain. Two building cards remaining: Organ Bank (1 box on it) & Iron Mine. Population left on Organ Bank, 5, on Iron Mine, 3 for a final total of 8. Enough for a win, but it wasn't pretty. It never is in this game! LOL Player board for Trollhalla. Ship has (left to right) 2 goats, 5 pig farmers (1 wild Grog tile in stack), 2 monks, 3 noblemen, 1 damsel, 4 steers. Point values for each type are the number of icons under each, except the goats (no points for goats).

Our 2nd play of Skara Brae this morning & our scores were almost the same as our first play!🤦‍♀️ Clearly, we're not getting better at it😆 Need to play more games, plays closer together. We like this game; it's definitely a keeper. Really puts the *management* into resource management!😮 #boardgames

I love that Cafe Baras has a Board Game card. Creature Comforts also has board game cards. It's just such a nice cozy touch for cozy games. #boardgames

BGstats October 2025. We didn't play all our "spooky season" games in Oct. Some were played last mth, some not at all. I think there's a BGA game or 2 included (otherwise it wouldn't have 6 players, 2 locations). The 1 new game was Skara Brae, which I'm looking forward to playing again! #boardgames

Played Forest Shuffle w/ Exploration expansion for 1st time. Got cards into my unique cave on the very last turn of the game! (I played the raccoon: drawing back up drew the 3rd Winter card---for the 2nd time! I'd played the Christmas tree which had allowed us to reshuffle 3rd Winter.) #boardgames
Collector's Cave card: 2 pts per card in cave. I had 6 cards in my cave. Each cave card in the Exploration expansion has unique art and scoring conditions. Players select a cave at the beginning of the game.

Can you believe it? No monsters! I can't even remember the last time we got through Cartographers (Heroes) without any Ambush cards turning up. Of course, the 2nd game made up for it: drew 3 Ambush cards in a row, in Winter🙄 Details in Alt txt #boardgames
Cartographers Heroes map, A side. 3 mountains are surrounded, 5 Hero squares because one of the Skills cards allowed drawing extra Heroes for coins. 8 coins crossed off. (I used the 3 Skills cards a lot). Also of note there's extra mountains drawn on the map! A card I love from the Architects mini-expansion I think. This has all the mini-expansions (Ambushes, Architects, Champions etc) rolled in.

@lookoutgames.bsky.social Is there a misprint in the Forest Shuffle Dartmoor card count? I've got 55 cards split top/bottom and 46 cards split left/right. (Book says 56 top/bottom, 45 left/right) Total comes out right, but I'd like to know if I have the right numbers of both types of cards. Thanks!

@bgstatsapp.bsky.social How can I set expansions as a default for various games? If I add a play from the Overview it doesn't add our usual expansions. If I add a play from Games it'll add our usual expansions, but ignores default players and default location in favor of last BGA play.

First play of Skara Brae! We liked it! You know how sometimes we make a real mess of gameplay? Well, this game is literally all about making a mess...and cleaning it up!🤣

My player board, tiles, and cards. Board is on the left. I've got 3 skaill knives, 3 food, & 1 bone. Slider has 2 midden, no negetive points, and the midden is offset by my 2 utensil cards. I've got 4 roofs, and 2 iron ball cards. I'm in the 3rd slot of the Furnish track, and didn't touch the Trade track. On the right are the player tiles. I didn't use the Explore special tile, though I upgraded it and most of the tiles. I have 7 villager cards: 1 blue, 2 green, 3 brown, & 1 yellow.

These casual guests in Obsession. I dread the draw from that deck and always breathe a sigh of relief when it's not bad. Today wasn't the worst, but it looked like I was going to get stuck with the -4 pts, but I dismissed that guest🎉 and on the same turn drew the -2 guest🤦‍♀️ Sigh. #boardgames

Interesting list! Although I feel very out of step: I own 4 of them and none of the others are on my wishlist🤷‍♀️ Which isn't to say I might not impulse purchase some in the future; there's several I'd like to play, but possibly aren't a good fit for our collection of games. #boardgames

Though I usually drink tea, a maple latte on the patio of a local coffee house on an autumn day after a walk in the park with my #chihuahua is kind of perfect. Besides this big hit of caffeine will serve me well in the first boardgame of the day😆
