UD's announcement is baffling. Either they're a boardgame publisher who pays NO attention to what's happening in the #boardgame community (eg: furious backlash against CGE re: Potter license) or they knew & decided to give the finger to the LGBTQ+ community. Clueless or malicious is not a good look🙄

Game day today! 4 person play of Moon Colony Bloodbath AND we made it all the way through the Event deck!🎉 I did really well, but one of the people I taught won! #boardgames
My final board, character Dr Kaneko. I think this was the most buildings I've ever ended with. 6 buildings (including Flag). 3 people on the board, 4 food stacked, 2 money, all 4 Work action tokens on the board. Visible above my board is the building discard (had to reshuffle the building deck for the first time ever), the Progress deck facedown, and the final event card on top of the already played cards in the Progress deck. Discovered that it's possible to win without any Helsinki, Copenhagen, or Stockholm routes. (I did draw one Oslo destination card, though.) Ticket to Ride Nordic Countries. #boardgames

First #boardgame of 2026: Winter Carcassonne❄️ Then a couple of Pack O Games: Dig & Bog. Love the artwork on both! Such derpy dogs! Such expressive Frogs! Dig was nifty. Bog was surprisingly cut-throat for such cute frogs🐸 Played 2 games of Moon Colony Bloodbath but did so badly I didn't take pics🤣
Final layout for Winter Carcassonne with scoreboard at the bottom of pic, meeples and scoring tile to the left of it. Game box at the left edge. This is the second edition Winter Carcassonne, and it has a winter River I. The lake tile is at the top of the pic. There are a few large cities. No meeples left on the board; we removed them as we did final scoring. Three small thin cards with derpy looking cartoonish dogs on them. The card on the left is a rusty brown with a generic cross-eyed dog with tongue out. The second card from the left is yellow with a corgie type dog, the third card from the left is an orangish brown with maybe a dachshund with crossed eyes and tongue out, the card on the right is gray with a gray-white very thin dog, maybe a greyhound type. They all look very silly. Some of the frog cards in Bog laid out in 2 rows of 4 cards (not a game layout, just for the picture) the top of the thin cards has the pattern the frog must move on lilypad cards. The bottom has circles and checkmarks. The small boxes of Dig and Bog, standing on end. Each box is slightly bigger than a pack of gum, and about the same shape. Dig has the rear end of a dog sticking up as the dog digs. Bog had a very canny looking frog sitting on a lily pad with a bloom beside.

2025 BGStats for on-the-table play. 2 versions of Carcassonne--regular & Winter 2nd ed. 4 of top 9 were new to us: Martian Dice, Obsession, Space Base, & Moon Colony Bloodbath. 3 were first played at PeliCon. Surprisingly good stats considering my health issues this past year!

Last play of Obsession for 2025! #boardgames
My player board with improvement tiles, the main board above it. I maxxed out reputation, have 2 available servants (under butler, housekeeper), 2 ladies maids one section over, and footman, ladies maid, valet, and butler in expended service. All my improvement tiles have been flipped. I have 3 tiles of brown, blue, & green, 2 red tiles (one a monument, the Garden Maze), and 4 purple tiles. I played Cavendish family. The other player board is just visible on the right side, Asquith family. The main player board has a pile of cardboard money in the center and one tile missing at game end. I did unusually well on both objective cards and VP cards. I was able to score all 3 objectives and had a total of 14 VP on the VP cards.

We did it! On Christmas morning! We got all the way through the Event deck of Moon Colony Bloodbath to trigger game end. I won with 20 population left. It's the first time no one has triggered game end by having zero population. A happy Christmas for the doomed moon colony😆 #boardgames

Our Moon Colony Bloodbath end trigger is always someone losing all population. BUT today we almost made it to the end of Event deck!! Soooo close! Game end card in sight, but we couldn't get the "add next event" card before our population tanked. I won with 1 single people token left. #boardgames
On the left the progress deck showing Event 8 Accident, -3 population. (Flavor text: "To calm down I have some hot cocoa. I've started to develop a Pavlovian response to the sound of air escaping and people screaming.") And that was enough to end the game. Board games yesterday! A couple of games of Jokkmokk The Winter Market & Ticket to Ride Nordic Countries. We've been playing TtR Northern Lights so much that it was a bit of a jolt to go back to Nordic Countries! Every TtR is a bit different! #boardgames
Jokkmokk The Winter Market set up for our second game. Sets used: Fika, Snowflakes, Bell, Friend, Mystery Box, and Candy. Cards are dealt into slots around the board. The Day and Night decks are on the colorful market board. A cardboard figure is on the starting slot behind alternatinh yellow and red meeples. (It's set up for a 2 player game.) Final board for Ticket to Ride Nordic Countries with a double row of my finished tickets at the bottom, along with the Globetrotter bonus card gor most completed routes. Purple and white trains wind around the board for various routes. Beautiful map done in cool colors, lavender, white, & blue.
