Obsessing over individual players and political chaos leaves less time to focus on the misogyny. And that’s for the best, isn’t it guys, says Guardian columnist Marina Hyde

Made me tear up too, and I'm not even American. What I really miss is people just being nice, being caring, being genuinely pleased to see each other and reaching out as humans. And positive role models.
The constant cruelty, indifference and lack of compassion is so depressing 😢
This made me ugly cry 😭

I will never claim that he was perfect…every president in my lifetime has pissed me off for one reason or another.
But…dammit, I’m so tired of the constant feeling of uneasiness and uncertainty 😔

Good morning. The President of the United States was in the middle of the most serious child sex trafficking ring of the last quarter century.

He is referenced not a dozen times in the case files. Not 100 times. Not 1,000 times. He’s referenced 38,000 times.

“now, NATO should do something for the US”
-Trump, demanding Greenland

In reality, NATO does valuable things for the US every day.

Intel sharing, defense/deterrent coordination, basing rights, an American as Supreme Allied Commander, support after 9/11, and more.

And America is throwing it away.

Every defector Farage unveils, swears up-and-down that they made no deal.

Farage cocked up today and pulled back that curtain. A huge unforced error.

Incredibly, when - rightly - pressed about it, he pretended, to journalists' faces, that he had never said what he said TO THEM an hour earlier.

Inevitable that cuts to services and children & young people's facilities and spaces since the Thatcher years would lead to an increase in crime and kids being easily enticed into drugs and gangs. This just shows how you can reverse that if you give young people positive spaces, activities and hope

Britain was NOT able to roll out a vaccine faster because of Brexit. Existing EU rules gave the MHRA and agencies of all other EU countries freedom to act independently in the case of an emergency. It's another long since debunked lie from Farage and Johnson.
This can’t go on. UK news shows have got to start calling Nigel Farage out on this ridiculous bull****. Please start doing your job - for all our sakes
If UK news shows are going to give Nigel Farage a platform to spout this absolute boll**** about Brexit & the vaccine rollout (unchallenged) I’ll happily come back every week to correct it.

We cannot allow him & others to rewrite history.

Calling NATO a one-way subsidy ignores how much Europe provides. This letter to the editor analyses all the ways the US benefits from European infrastructure, tax breaks, logistics, long-term host nation support and assistance with US missions ⤵️
