Hey there! I'm Phil (Flip) 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🏳️‍⚧️

I've been writing about games old and new for a long time, and I love messing around with retro consoles. If that's your jam, follow along for more nonsense.

DMs are open 4 chatter (email if it's work)
FYI, you cuties are in for a weekend of CRT nonsense from me.

Missed the PlayStation Direct, was too busy thinking about smol CRTs.

A couple of points:

1. I have an Anbernic RG ARC-D and have written various articles about it.
2. Lecturing me on ROM dumping consoles is very silly, let's not do that.
As a big Mega Drive nerd that will probably never own a Sega Nomad, I'm pretty hyped for the Hyperkin Mega95. Gatekeepers will never entertain the idea of ROM-dump emulation consoles, but it sounds like they're really trying to dial the handheld in.

I'll be spending Valentine's day getting up to filthy nonsense (messing around with CRTs).

Finally gathered my thoughts on the Intellivision Sprint, and while it's just as solid as the other new-age Atari plug and play systems, a cartridge slot would have made all the difference. But hey, it's got Frog Bog.

The next Xbox will apparently use Windows, and that's the last thing I want to hear after a weekend wrestling with Fallout New Vegas on the Xbox Ally X gamesradar.visitlink.me/WqQm7-

Using an Xbox gaming PC could feel like traversing the wasteland.

Happy Super (Famicom) Bowl to all who celebrate.

The internet hasn't been the same since my mother started using it instead of Teletext.

I enjoy the idea that every Sega console before the Master System was just version refinement. This roughed up Mark III has been on my restoration project list for a while, so maybe I'll finally sort it out soon.

I've been riddled with anxiety and existential thoughts lately, but I'm still here trying to just talk about what Iove without my bad brain getting in the way.

Not to build upon said spicy take, but most people who've ever told me they grew up with a NES are either middle classed or lying.
Unless you had the opportunity and disposable income to buy expensive imports, the Mega Drive was a better platform for RPGs in the UK than the SNES.

Throwback to that time I refurbished around 15 NES controllers in one night.

It's funny seeing journalists within an industry being decimated by AI use AI frequently (it's not funny).

I've been messing around with this scanline generator for a while, but made time this week to properly chat about how it compares to an actual CRT etc.

There's something funny about Valve deciding to comment on Steam Machine release date and pricing stuff that appears to exclusively live in its head.

Pushing back a launch that you haven't actually said out loud is emo boy behavior. www.gamesradar.com/hardware/des...
Yes, the Steam Machine will arrive later than expected and with a higher price, but I'd call it a heads up rather than a delay
Valve delays a Steam Machine release date that wasn't actually announced

Random CRT that once crashed at my old place for a bit before moving on to pastures new.

Glad people seem to be enjoying this. It can be hard to get the right words in front of the right people given the state of *the internet*, but I'll persist.

Feels like my big CRT is trying to make me feel bad for not having moved it yet via cool old photos.
